Team I would be calling before the Expansion draft - Buff36
Tampa isn’t in as bad of shape as ppl think
-1 bigger contract should get taken by Seattle
-1 gets traded or bought out
And that gives them enough to sign a few Vets at league minimum to fill out their roster & make another Cup run |

Honeslty F Tampa, twice.
The league needs to fix the cap circumvention crap they pulled. |

In the interest of switching from hate-politics to hate-analytics, there was a study performed a few years ago which outlined the following:
How long would postseason series need to be in NFL, MLB and NHL to match the NBA's "better team advances" rate of 80%?
NFL would be best of 11
NHL would be best of 51
MLB would be best of 75
These numbers were created studying thousands of games through multiple seasons from every team. We all know how random hockey results can be. Even the Buffalo Sabres won 15 times and they were dog poop. Didn't mean they were the better team, analytically or otherwise. Plus, teams seem to adopt different styles in the playoffs, where those specific analytics of those teams really don't exist when they players literally play differently. So you can go into a playoff series that says, well, Tampa has a 60% chance of winning against Columbus, watch Columbus play differently than they did during the regular season, and sweep the Lightning.
This isn't gospel, but I find it to be pretty interesting. - TheSabresTaco
Comparing leagues is a waste of time. NBA superstars can control the game because they're on the floor 85% of the time or more and the talent discrepancy between them and the rest is huge. |

I agree
Just saying they aren’t really a team i think we can take advantage of this offseason
They can figure their Cap issues out for next year fairly easily |

I think you're being a little kind calling it easy. They have a lot of work to do and the flat cap isn't going to make it easy.

Disagree
All they need is for Seattle to take Gourde or Tyler Johnson & then buy the other out
That’s “fairly easy” imo
Even if Seattle doesn’t take a contract like that off their hands,
then they can buy both out & still squeeze in enough Vets at minimum salary to field a decent team |

They can protect everyone they need to
And offer a pick to get Seattle to take someone like Gourde, Johnson, Kilorn, etc
Tampa will be fine next year
What exactly were u thinking? |

They have NTC, and Tampa doesn't have a 1st or 2nd rnd pick this year. |

That is actually not what I said you wacko, I said if he was a Republican, REPUBLICANS would be jacking off over his comments, as in they would be getting off on it just like when Trump said he sexually assaults women while being recorded.
You could have avoided a lot of frustration if you learned how to read better.

I think this every year and they never have to pay the piper. Death, taxes, Risto will still be here and Tampa never has cap problems.

NTC doesn’t protect you from being taken in the expansion draft
Only NMC does
And it doesn’t have to be a pick THIS year,
does it?

Paying Seattle to take a guy then 6-8 years of dead money, just to get started, is not what I'd call easy.

Semantics
It’s a situation that they can resolve with us being able to take advantage of them- as another poster wants us to do
If u don’t like the word “easy” then pick another one- idc
The point is that Tampa can make it work
Like they always do |

i don't get it...they're fortunate because they put themselves in position for high danger chances and score on them? Or capitalize on turnovers? Or finish on breakaways?
isn't that what the lightning do?
if they win, there's always an excuse as to why they win and if they manage to beat the lightning which admittedly is a very tall task, it'll be because something weird happened... - Michael Pachla
I would say that the series was pretty even in terms of High Danger Chances, except games 1 and 5 where the Bruins dominated by a wide margin in each 5v5. In those games the teams split 1 and 1.
Game 1; Tukka gave a decent performance with .909 SV in game 1 with NYI shooting 9.1% and scoring twice while generating only 2 HDCF. Bruins won
Game 5; Tukka poop the bed with a .750 SV% while the Isles shot lights out 26.3% scoring 5 times generating only 2 HDCF. Isles won.
Game 6; Tukka faltered again with .852 SV%, while Isles again shot lights out at 20.7% but this time they did generate 11 HDCF. Isles won.
If a team normally shoots at 7.9% and enjoyed two games where they enjoyed 3x and 2.5x that rate; I'd say they enjoyed good fortune. If they normally shot at 20%+, and did so in those wins then I'd say they are really, really good.
