I like Myers too . He is a 30 -40 pt guy . Does a little of everything well , nothing great.

It sounds like Canucks have an actual plan to get better defensively instead of like years past of go out and try your best.

- VANTEL

A minus player when he had to play top 4 in Buffalo. A plus player playing 3rd pairing in Wpg and a minus player playing top 4 in Van.

None of this is possible, or probable. Also, what the hell are you talking about? There is no space to add an $8+m FA D, along with two $5m players added in trade, another year of Lui+Lu.
- 1970vintage

Yes there is cap space, shall I repost the numbers? Again just possible. But have stated Trade/UFA variables doesn't make it probable.

Vantel and others understand there are choices to be made that manage the cap. Canucks have more this off season and are not being restrained like last off season.

What does expansion draft have to do with waiver exemption?

In 12 seasons he has hit 30 points 4 times. Not disagreeing he’s an “offensive defenseman” but expecting 30+ points is probably setting yourself up for disappointment.

Finally. I got to see a lot of Shaw play Junior with Ottawa. Had one of the best Junior Coaches ever in Brian Kilrea. I have no doubt in my mind he knows his shit about the game.

He was on pace for 30 pts in his last two seasons that were both shortened.

It will depend on systems and partners but if he gets 28 pts only I will still like him

Man is it ever useless to converse with you. Differing opinion and you automatically try and put words in people's mouths and change the topic it the same time.

Our core is a playoff capable core. Improve the D and bottom 6 and they are, at worst, a bubble team.

- Retinalz

I came up with a possible scenario. There are plenty more. The doom and gloom crowd are stuck because of the f'd up season.

Plus the fall back narrative that its not possible for Canucks to make right moves until ownership etc are gone. I approach things objectively and look at what is possible.

Demko for Byram & Newhook?

Holtby/DiPietro this year

DiPietro/Random Veteran backup 2022

- 1970vintage

Honestly if Colorado offered that, I'd take it. Then pay Seattle to take a bad contract and trade for a goalie or UFA one like Grubauer

Out of the 5 seasons Myers played in WPG at least three of those seasons were 2nd pairing minutes.

Do we include Ian Clark in the Demko trade?

Could be reason why Jones, with his M-NTC, favors a Canuck trade over say someone, like the Sabers, who could offer more.

Myers has pretty much been as advertised when he came here from WPG. A slightly better version of Alex Edler in his better days lol

JTM Petey BB
McDavid Bo Hogs
Pearson Stamkos Podz
Motte Graovac ZacMac

QH Hamonic
Hedman Schmidt
Rathbone Savard

Tampa has no choice but to trade these players and no one is giving up assets because they are over the cap, and they'll eat half their salaries because and stuff. McDavid doesn't want to be in Edmonton anymore, no choice but to trade him. Petey and QH realize they need to sign league minimum deals to have such a great roster.

It's all very possible. No doom and gloom, only the objective circus.

so astute to mention. Talk about not possible scenarios because he doesn't think things through.

I don't know if Jones would want to come here or if Canucks would want to pay the asking price? I know it is hypothetical .

I think something at this point is we will probably return with Schmidt and Myers. Both seemed to improve as the year went on . Maybe with a coach that actually knows how to coach an NHL team it might improve with style and systems ?

No, it was a bait and switch. Clark got Benninged.

Honestly I think that's an over payment for Demko, so I would take that deal as much as I like Demko.

I like him. I feel mostly like Makita feels about certain players like Myers Roussel Sutter.

I will go out on a limb and say Demko is not getting traded.
