I agree, wouldn't be the worst move for them. Treliving is okay at making NHL moves but his drafting is meh at best

My idea of reasonable. Reasons are term is long for both. I like Jones but not getting into a bidding war. He needs a good partner to be at his best. Reinhart a small shave to play at home. Fine if neither accept & move on.

Looks like Vantel broke the Muller to Calgary news. I wonder if Green just didn’t like Muller or if his conversation with Shaw was just that much better.

Also wondering about contract lengths for the new guys (and returning coaches). Are they tied to Green as well? Clarke at 5 years suggests that there are, in fact, not better options available elsewhere…

Great write up, I really like the resume Shaw brings, I also like the comment by Green that essentially states the teams systems suck, so he is happy to have Gustafson because he’s a sharp guy with systems, and he think having a fresh voice from that standpoint is going to help us as well.

Bravo Green, you score one in my book.

I think Green has his flaws like any coach, but you gotta give him credit for going out and actively looking to bring in a coach with some opposing views to challenge some of his own ideas. I bet a lot of coaches would rather just work with coaches who agree with them on most things

Even Torts said that Shaw is a great mind and that he's a great asset to a coaching staff even if he doesn't always share the same philosophies

Not always. An unsigned Jones is available to anyone willing to pay, a signed Jones is only available where he wants to play. If 30 teams only want him signed and he shortlist 2 or 3 teams that limits trade partners.
