Even if he is found not guilty, do you think he has a place on this team?
Would another team sign him for league min? - manvanfan
If he’s found not guilty then why wouldn’t he be in the NHL? There’s worse players in the league. He’s frustrating for us because of the draft pedigree but if he was signed to a cheap one year deal by another team then expectations wouldn’t be high.

His salary for this coming season is $3,400,000 (base - $3M / bonus $400K). That would be a nice chunk of change to get back and reallocate if the Canucks can negate the contract.
But the way the courts work this could take years to settle.
Just seen an interesting topic on Twitter . What if Wallstedt is still there at 9 and all your favorites are gone. They pointed out with Ian Clarke in charge of all goaltending you would pretty well sow up your goal tending for the next 10 years. - VANTEL

He was not good this season. He has really been good only 1 season. Soon to be 25 year old that hasn't produced and lots of talk about him being out of shape, not caring all that much.
Allegations like these don't just disappear either even if not guilty.

I love how Hamilton calls out the cap circumvention in Tampa by stating they lost to a team 18 million over the cap. - Shuswap Wap
Good on Doug, it is a joke how teams eff around with the cap. Toronto, Islanders Devils and Tampa 3 of those teams Lou has been involved with, are the masters of the circumvention, yet when the Canucks do it, boom, hammer comes down.
I have a hard time cheering for those teams.
I am not a proponent of the cap, but if you have rules make them tight, none of this bush league stuff, that has been around all during the Bettman era.
