Oh, there you are, Todd. Never mind us Flames fans starving for a write-up. Did Ek not pay your retainer?

Let’s not pretend soft pp specialist D men actually play defense.
- Feds91Stammer

And let's also not pretend that they lead their team in ice time by more than 3 minutes over the next guy.
If you're going to try and make an argument just for argument's sake at least do a little home work. Even more clear now that you haven't watched him play. Why voice an opinion?

I guess you're right. It never occurs to me that someone might be a big enough loser to want to spend their time that way.

Weegar should have won it. Hedman passes the eye test, Makar best ppg...

But all three of Hedman, Makar, and Fox absolutely feasted on the power play. This is how garbage this trophy is.

Weegar had the most 5v5 points among D, which means he didn't just play "okay" 5v5 and feast in a specialist situation, but he absolutely wrecked 5v5. Weegar should have won it and it shouldn't even be close.

The FINALISTS should have been Weegar, Letang, and Theodore.

Oh, so against what turns out were the 2 best teams in the strongest division, the rebuilding Rangers were -15. But, Fox was only -6? Pretty awesome. Thanks.

Victor Hedman -8 in 8 games against Columbus.
I guess it's possible to cherry pick stats for any player.

Really a year any of the 3 could win it. I think Hedman is probably the least deserving of those 3, but could win it. Fox or Makar are better candidates imo. Both were spectacular this year.

If you are unwilling to sign with the team that drafted you then you should get a permaban from any awards, including getting your name on the cup. Also, the only TV show Fox should ever be allowed to watch is Full House.

Nah, these guys have rights, they worked their whole lives to get where they are, they shouldn't have to sign anywhere they don't want to. This fan mentality that when you draft a player you own them, is stupidity.

If a player is willing to sit out or wait until the contract rights are up, so they can sign anywhere, that's their prerogative. They're playing within the system as it's set out.

They're people too, and they are entitled to do what's in their best interest, just like anybody else.

It's not a bad trophy. The people who vote for who wins it, however ....

If you really think Adam Fox's impact was restricted to the PP, you're out to lunch. The Rangers were among the league's worst teams defensively, when he wasn't on the ice, but literally one of the best with him. The difference in team the Rangers were when Fox was on, or off, the ice, was out of control, and eye popping.

Makar isn't bad defensively either. But Fox was simply outstanding on both ends.
