9 million reasons - VANTEL
There's a bunch of teams that can throw money at him, including Toronto, where he's from. Just my humble opinion that there's less than zero chance you can sign one of the best UFA dmen to come on the market when you're as poorly managed as Vancouver is.
The players around the league can see it and even the teams own players complained about it last year saying they don't understand some decisions that were made. |

I neither said rugged or skill bottom 6 options.
Or great for that matter. - manvanfan
You’re right, I put those words in your mouth. Did you say upgrade? Or just simply, lots of options? |

You still have top 6 of Miller Hog Pod Bo Pearson and Brock .
You would obviously be moving Schmidt .
Like I said it it just playing around with ideas . I just think it is easier to find a top C over a couple of years than fixing an entire D . - VANTEL
Honestly, if NJD draft Hughes I would work out a deal to send our Hughes there. Ty Smith is a pretty good dman and they have some good assets to add. Hughes will probably look to go there sooner than later if both of his brothers are there imo. |

You have to ask yourself, why on Gods green earth would Dougie Hamilton, in the prime of his career, want to come to Vancouver when they've finished near the bottom of the league for six of the last seven years....AND....they still have cap issues for the next couple years that'll hurt their chances of being competitive. - LeftCoaster
Didn't he say he wanted to stay in Carolina? |

You know, that's not a bad idea, to be honest. I'd want more than Ty Smith back, though. |

No, they tried to work out a deal and they couldn't, just read it this morning. So he's headed to free agency. |

Like I said, he's a strange guy when you see/hear his interviews, very introverted, also very religious and family oriented from what I've read. Being from Toronto, where his family is, I can see him signing there.
Los Angeles is building a wicked prospect pool, not sure how long it's gonna take them to be good but man Hamilton could hide away down in lala-land if he wants to be left alone? |

I agree, but it's an option for the Canucks next season and he played well there this season.
If they don't want to spend a lot of money this offseason, it's one way to cover that hole while waiting to go all in when contracts come off the books. - NewYorkNuck
It will be him female doging about wingers next 😆 |

I brought this up a couple months back, it didn't go over well.
I would do it yesterday. |

I would get their first in 2022 by taking Gardiner. That going to hurt them. |

I don't think the Canucks management team is cunning enough to pull off these types of deals |
|
|
|
I don't know why teams would give prospects or picks anymore to bury cap space. Follow the CHI ST.L NYI or TBL method of making cap disappear.
I laugh when you read Kesler is always is in total pain with his back and can hardly move then you see him on Kes's House firing slap shots in the basement and doing trick shots. That trying to bat the puck in mid air twirl has to be great for his back.

Schneider and Kesler are the only 2 times I can remember in the past 20 years that the Canucks have traded someone for another 1st round pick. |

he said they want to do a sign and trade
BTW I like your idea of Nichushkin from yesterday that would be an excellent 3 rd line pick up.
