Buffalo's motivation is Terry Pegula always wanting to go after the biggest free agents, regardless of it being a bad idea.

Hamilton's is money, money, money, proximity to his home town, money, money, and finally: money.

I can't see us paying him THAT much more than everyone else that would make him come here.

i reeded da blog, am not interested in Eklund. Beneirs or trade this pick.

It would be very Pegula esq to try to pry Rod the bod from Carolina. Terry tried to model the Penguins failed so he is moving on to Carolina, using Adams as his inside guy. My money is on his continued failure.

Nice read Hank, be interesting to see what happens if we can get back into that 5 to 8 range.

Power is most likely going back to school next year.

Or do you think he is using that so Buffalo passes on him.

I think people are still thinking of the Pegulas from 5 years ago. We aren't going after big fish, be it players or coaches.

Pegulas havent changed in 5 years, only the GM, coach, management team, AHL GM, AHL coach, AHL and NHL players have changed...with continued failure. They have no clue what their doing and to think this will be different is comical.

Rookie GM with franchise players wanting out, the league thinks of the team as a joke...not a good place to start.

Trading Jack signifies you're not trying to be a contender. Why bother. I mean it would be nice to have him here for a few years. But what's the point.
- TheSabresTaco

Terry has never cared about what makes sense when it comes to going after the true top end free agents.

Dahlin - Hamilton
Power - Jokiharju

The above sure sounds like a serious top 4.

It's depressing to have that be the reality, but depressing feels like the default state of being a Sabres fan.

- kingcong39

that's a very strong top-4

Exactly - if we wanted to make a splash we would have signed him long term, as he supposedly wanted.

Great reed H- Ballin.

Personally I hope they skip drafting small swedes.

Maybe if they hire the beard as an assistant coach?

Pegula always wants to make a splash with signing big name free agents. That has not changed.

We tried making a splash by acquiring him, regardless of term. Supposedly our owners thought we were contenders...

We don't want that name associated with the Sabres... This team is bad enough as it is.

Hopefully Eichel. Because I don’t rule out Sam re-signing

Thx. It'll be interesting to see where he lands. If Hughes gets taken in the top 3, I see the Devils taking Eklund at 4. He and Holtz have great chemistry.

If Hughes is there at 4, the Devils will take Luke and Eklund could slide a bit

I would like to see Rhino resigned to, just think they are getting a lot of calls on him and he gone.

Gonna be a interesting draft to see how teams have players ranked with everything that has gone on.
