Gonna be a interesting draft to see how teams have players ranked with everything that has gone on.
- Buff36

What teams will be able to copy the Lightning approach in the next few seasons? Celery will be the driving factor for the next 3 seasons.

Hope the league opens up and moves star players like the NBA but me thinks minimal movement due to international restrictions staying in place along with owners/GM's valuing cap space more than fighting to compete in the middle of the standings.

nice piece...good point on the ice surface discrepancies but if he can find similar space in the nhl, that shot is quick and deadly
- Michael Pachla

He's gonna get decapitated if he tries that corner-to-low-slot fadeaway.

He's excellent below the goal line like Sam Reinhart though

If they don't just draft Power, it's a mistake.

Don't over think things, don't succumb to stupid narratives like defensemen don't impact the games like forwards do, and don't let recent events like Dahlin having some struggles prevent the obvious decision from being made

Pegula always wants to make a splash with signing big name free agents. That has not changed.
- kingcong39

I think if you look at the last several coaches and GMs this is no longer true

Pegula already has too much Power, why would he want to draft more...

I think it's almost like playing Blackjack. As one scout said, it's quite possible (maybe even likely) that 7 years from now that Power will NOT be the best player from this draft. But are you going to try to beat the house by pretending to know who that person is? Don't underestimate the ego that GMs have when trying to identify talent (see Quinn, Jack).

I dont think there's any doubt that Power goes at 1.

The question is whether the Sabres pick there

Unless Power comes out and says he won't play for us, I don't think we should trade the pick either, unless it's for a crazt package

I've heard moving down one with the stipulation of Seattle taking Okposo or something and that's just not even close to worth it.

There's a article out there, trying to find it and the writer asks Power about being drafted by the Sabres and he said he would Love it, close to home and family. Said he use to come to a lot of Sabres games when he was younger, especially when they played the Leafs.

The quote he gave to Mark masters seems to indicate he'd be fine playing here. It's interesting that every time Adams talks about the pick he tries to invite phone calls on it

Any difference between:
Matt moulson 5 years
Kyle okposo 7 years

Taylor fall 1 year.

Who have we landed as a ufa recently longterm?

I completely agree.

Drafting a defenseman #1OA has bad optics when selling tickets to playoff hungry sabres fan's though.

Tough sell picking a defenseman who won't really help for 3 or 4 years.

Still , pick the #1 guy. Dont be stupid ....

Please clarify what you are trying to say.

Is it that they haven't gone after big name free agent players? Or are you trying to say they haven't gone after big name coaches/GM's?

Your not selling a lot next year anyway. Get the guy in Powers now.

Completely agree.

Powers looked great during international competition.

Do as the Bill's do: draft giant players 👍

The long continuing rebuild needs to continue IMO
