It turns truly dreadful when Myers is paired with Quinn. The pair’s expected goals percentage (38%) is terrible and they have surrendered nine goals while only scoring two with that pairing on the ice and they are giving up just under 17.5 high danger chances per 60. Of all the pairings in the NHL who’ve played ~100 minutes together, that’s the 2nd worst rate in the league.

Don’t care about those charts. What I saw was a veteran dman who the coaching staff trusted with big minutes and important minutes. To me that’s not a bad player, if anything I’d bet the coaches would like another player they could have similar confidence in

I suppose they are a good comparison in some ways.
Both teams have some good prospects/core players and both sucked last year.

The NYR cleared house of mgmt and coaches this year, while Vancouver tinkered.

Wonder if his 'man' Kelly Sutherland is reffing....

I do agree that the systems could use some adjustments. Green/Baumer are still young coaches so adding a vet like Shaw behind the bench should help
