Those same charts say that Matt Grzlecyk is an elite dman, Victor Hedman is average and Seth Jones is a 3rd pairing dman

That's it, I can't take it anymore! What you said above is absolutely (frank)ing stupid. Myers has been alright offensively (no argument there) but it's well understood that he's a defensive liability. In fact, he's a (frank)ing nightmare in his own zone.

No, he does not do a "nice job" in front of the net. He doesn’t tend to engage opposing forwards at the net front at all.

He's the 2nd worst d-man in the NHL in shots against and dead last in expected goals against. Opponents feast on opportunities from the high slot with Myers on the ice at 5 on 5. It turns truly dreadful when Myers is paired with Quinn. The pair’s expected goals percentage (38%) is terrible and they have surrendered nine goals while only scoring two with that pairing on the ice and they are giving up just under 17.5 high danger chances per 60. Of all the pairings in the NHL who’ve played ~100 minutes together, that’s the 2nd worst rate in the league.

Exactly! They tried to play him in pk, defensive positions and he got torched. All year. He took Tanevs defensive minutes, failed miserably.

Gallant NYR new coach.

So are the Rangers a fair comparison to the Canucks rebuild timeline for results?

- VanHockeyGuy

I'd say no. The Rags put together back to back 100+ point seasons while the Canucks were finishing bottom 5 in 2015-16 and 2016-17.

The Rags started to really blow it up the following season.

By far a better defenseman, just like Grzelczyk is the Bruins top defender.

I am sure there is some graphs, pie charts and other analytics that show how great of a defender Hughes really is.

Hopefully someone from here applies for these jobs.

Is there not enough ex Canucks to fill those positions? or they don't want to live in Abbotsford, can't blame them.

Do they need a Zamboni driver with a 98mph wrister? If so, Lordy should head to Abbotsford in his full Mad Max gear and apply in person. He'd be a lock.

Looking over the past 8 years of defensemen. Burns, Karlsson, Yandle, Barrie have all been paid their worth for playing offence and they have struggled defensively, now their contracts don't look so hot.

Now with Reilly being told to leave by Leafs fans. Shattenkirk being bought out by NYR.

Jake Gardiner barely even allowed to play anymore.

I have a feeling that Ruby is going to think that Hughes is going to be overpaid the moment he signs his contract.

Offenseman all don’t age well. Usually lacking a partner to prop them up on their weakness.

Too bad you're arguing with a guy who's pretending to be a guy who's super in love with the organization. Gotta admire him to his commitment to the role, but it's a bit over the top and monotonous at this point of the charade
