The centers that you listed above are all significantly larger than Pettersson and don't fall over when a gust of wind hits them. One of the weaker part of McDavids game is his faceoffs.
Eichel is still mediocre at faceoffs and do you really think thats going to improve now that he has a neck problem?
This Rangers team needs a punishing physical presence in the middle and an offer sheet here doesn't address that need in any way.
Just a bad example all around... - TommyGTrain
yea he's a twig but he's 6'2 and you can always bulk up. i'd say that's easier than improving FO% and plenty of players improve their FO%. none of this is to say that i A) think this transaction is remotely likely to occur and B) think he's the best answer to our center question. this was simply a thought i had about a center i don't think we've spoken about.. since we've spoken about many many centers. |

JD didn't even last two years - jimbro83
And he could’ve addressed it. Again this isn’t a knock on JD, but going forward I think our roster is going to look a lot more physical. We have enough finesse guys, Laf Kakko Kravtsov Panarin Zib etc, need more physicality throughout the lineup. Even guys like Fox and Buch can turn it up a notch and don’t shy away from the physical play, but those aren’t the guys we want throwing their bodies around constantly. We lacked an energy line all year, a line that can go out, pressure the puck, throw a few big hits and change the tempo of a game. I hate the Isles but if we could get a 4th line similar to theirs, I’d call that a huge win. |

I still think you are happy JD got fired because it gives Tony D another chance in your mind, its the only thing you care about
JD was here 22 months, 13 of which were Covid, but he should have addressed every single problem we had in that time, yeah ok

Show me where he had problems with his teammates except that headcase goalie we have. Also many players are on social media, just because his doesn’t align with libs, too bad! - nyr4life99
Remeber right after Tony D was exhiled and the team started winning and this happened?:

I really wonder if Dolan was on board with "the letter" 100% from the beginning, it still just seems insane that he wouldn't give them more time after the great purge |

Dude i can all but guarantee that this is how it went down:
- Someone tells Dolan what happened (since he doesn't watch. unless he was there which im too lazy to find out)
- He watches the clips and is outraged/people are telling him it's embarrassing
- He calls in his assistant and says "get PR to tweet this out... get a pen.." and then dictates a very expletive filled and poorly worded rage letter to his poor assistant
- The assistant gives it to PR and PR turns it into something tweetable
- JD and Gorton are all "uhhh wtf was that"
- Dolan hears it from someone else that JD and Gorton weren't happy with the tweet and rage fires them on the spot
Edit: i now realize you are referring to the letter 3 years ago and not the tweet and i am a moron. i guarantee he didnt even know about the letter. maybe someone told him but he wasnt paying attention |

OMG
This place is just so off the rails today --- lets completely change topics.
Lets discuss trades to improve the team:
1) we need a back-up goalie -- lets see what it would take to get Bobrovsky out of FLA
2) we need a tough 4th liner -- lets see what it would take to add Lucic
3) we need a veteran d-man for the 3rd pair -- how costly would it be to get EK out of San Jose
See what I did here? |

Nils is a goner, maybe not right away but I don’t see where he plays on this team. Trouba has the NMC so he’s going nowhere, Fox is a Norris candidate so he’s going nowhere, that leaves 1 spot for Schneider (who plays well offensively as well) and Nils. My thinking behind it is Dolan wants the team to get tougher, Gallant likes a heavy physical team, so between Schneider and Nils which one fits that mold better? You watch these playoffs and it should be even more abundantly clear we need to get bigger and more physical. Schneider does that, Nils doesn’t. That’s just my .02 on the whole thing, not that Nils is bad, I think he’s going to be very good, just that he doesn’t fit the direction of the team at the moment. - nyrangers9479
Nils will start playing on the left side. |

See this is why some fans fly off the rails, I mean to be a Richard here and remind you, the Rangers completely gutted this team and tore it down and started to rebuild it nicely. We drafted a few good players and got lucky with KK and Laf, Stole Fox.
YOU CANNOT COMPLETELY REBUILD A TEAM IN 3 YEARS.
After getting your important pieces, you build around them. Dolan being a Richard, didnt even give JD time to fill in those pieces. |
