Why are we taking about trading a LHD when the log jam is on the right side? Who plays with Trouba then? We haven’t had a top pair LHD since McD and now we want to trade the closest thing we have to it?

Nils will, he is a gifted player. The Rangers didnt send out that poster with Fox, Nils and Schneider on it to waste paper. You read it here first!!!

Man looking back at that 2018 2nd round we really could’ve had an exciting prospect from that round, it almost makes me believe they announced the wrong name when they made that pick. Lindbom was projected as a 4th/5th round goalie and we took him in top part of the 2nd. Guys that went within 12 picks after him in that round that should all be making an impact/1st year this year;

I disagree but we shall see. Playing on ur off side can work in lower levels. Much more difficult to do in the NHL.

I have to disagree with you on this, just because he will add some weight doesnt mean he will become more physical. Throwing body checks is a mindset not a weight issue.
- Brukie

I mean, unless u didn’t watch the games this season you would’ve saw he threw the body around. Not nearly as much as I expected but he definitely didn’t shy away from contact. Towards the end of the season you started seeing it more.

Then we agree to disagree cause I didnt see him as a physical defense man. Depends what your definition of being a physical defense man is. Trouba and Lindgren are physical defense man to me. Miller doesnt even come close.

I think he will end up in between what the two of you are implying. He may not have the physical mentality of Lindgren, but he did not shy away from it either. Once he is bigger than 80% of the opposition he might use it some more.

Im still convinced in order to make some space on the cap and roster, Trouba will get bought out in 2 years.

That seems the likely scenario, although I do like Trouba for his grit and leadership.

Nice to see Vegas tie it up.

in two years? no I dont think so, the buyout numbers are too much yet to do in summer of 2023

summer of 2024 he goes from a NMC to a 15 team NTC and also the buyout is more feasible if they then choose to go that route

I would absolutely bank on Trouba being here the next 3 years at minimum

We can only hope that the cap goes up in 3 years then because I find it hard to believe anyone takes on that contract without us retaining.

I love how we’re taking about buying out our 1st pair RHD the day he hits 30 🤦‍♂️

it's also possible that he's here for the duration

but it's nothing to do with Trouba the player

both Trouba and Kreider's contracts were right before the pandemic when they had no reason to not believe the cap would be going up to 100 million

now it's only 100 million for Tampa

it's nothing against Trouba at all, but as always nyrangers9479 turns the conversation around to how he feels about players personally

in 2024, if the cap is still 81 million and our young players are all becoming stars, the team will absolutely have to look for ways to make the cap work and that will make Trouba endangered, and Kreider too.

this guy is just too damn dense to talk hockey with

Haha, I should really start paying u for living rent free in your head. Save this post and in 4 years we’ll revisit it. You always make these accusations and 90% of the time are wrong, I just see things down the line much better than u. Like when u wanted Shattenkrik and I said it was a terrible idea, how AV was the wrong coach and all u did was defend him. How Miller sucked and I told u it was AV, not Miller. How Stepan was going to get traded and u said he wasn’t, how the return on the McD deal was trash and u defended it, the list goes on and on. But if it isn’t a Jimmy idea it’s a bad one. I nailed the Trouba trade btw, told u it was going to be Lemeuix and a 1st, the list goes on and on my friend.

Let’s not forget about the Jimmy 4th line of the future, Howden and whatever rookies that we bring up bc that’s how it’s going to be for the next few years, right Jim? Let’s see if ur theory is corrrect starting this year or if I’m right that it will look more like a traditional 4th line with some guys that can throw a hit and change the momentum of the game.

Well to play Devils Advocate Shatty was a good deal, unfortunately he got injured and then the Rangers decided to rebuild. If Nash doesnt miss that open net or at least scores a few goals, the series definitely changes and AV might have been a hero! When Nils comes in and blows us all away and makes Miller expendable, the Mcd and Miller trade was worth it. The rest that you list, I dont remember.

Well AV won the presidents trophy and took the team to the Stanley Cup final in different seasons. You can't call him a bad hire.
