I have seen the future....

the Rangers are gonna expose Tony D to Seattle in expansion draft

Seattle is going to take a different Ranger

the Rangers will then buyout Tony D and have a 333K cap hit for him this coming season

a team will sign Tony D to a 1 year 1 million dollar show me deal before the season starts

- jimbro83

I can't wait till Tony is gone but still brought up in this thread daily. Should be fun

People on here complain about not having a spot for both Right handed D men Nils and Schneider. Where the hell does Tony fit at this point

- TPC

He doesn't and he is completely redundant. It's a shame but that's how it goes sometimes.

I think what irks most of us is the losing him for "nothing" part and I get it.

Try to look at the positives, there are a lot of them. I just want the damn playoffs to end so the real crazy season can start.

It's not losing him for nothing when you gain over 3 million in cap space

OK, let's talk about something realistic.

Mark Scheifele or Pierre-Luc Dubois?

Both are less likely than Tony being on the team next year honestly

I know, I made that argument a page ago. But it is still poor asset management.

I actually think an even greater reason he is done is that they want to move on from that albatross contract for someone who is "dead to the organization". One of the last lingering points of contention from the Gorts and JD era.

Could be. I also think it will be Schiefele or PLD before it will be Hertl, Dvorak, Greenway, Crouse and Fischer!

Sidenote: who the (frank) is Fischer??

I am pretty skeptical of any trades for guys who will be UFA after next season

that's one of the reasons I like Dvorak, long term solid contract

I think we are forgetting that part of the fun of being a fan for a team that sucks enough to not be in the playoffs is we get to speculate on who we would like them to target in the off season. I see nothing wrong with making mock lineups.

Since I'm a Rangers fan from back in the early 90's I can remember many off seasons of sucking where I used to fantasize about who they would bring in. The universe didn't care about my pleas to have Fedorov or Modano come here. They did get Bure but that was the worst tease of all time.

What I'm saying is let people discuss the team they're a fan of however they like and unless they're a huge Richard about it I'll be willing to banter back. I know we all get a little testy, especially with the lack of a postseason but that is about to come to an end.

So, you mean we should be having fun!? How dare you! This is serious business.

The Isles are 3 games away from SCF. No time for fun!

It's because the Rangers told them to (frank) off and are inking a deal involving Sheifele.
