it's another case of people on here arguing over what THEY WOULD DO and not thinking about what the organization will actually do
it's already been decided when it comes to Tony D, it's a waste of time to go on and on about it

Yea....I was just thinking too that 4.4 million could be used to add solid 3rd liner and 4th line player for depth this season. Instead of Tony who will be fighting for 3rd pair minutes |

You are making me yearn for you to get hit by a bus haha
I just think it’s a dumb decision. Suppose he played idk 50 games, and got idk 40 pts? A deadline deal for him would bring us a first rd pick..at worst a 2nd. You know, asset for asset? We are getting rid of an asset all because they have no room for him. That is dumb - Slimtj100
If they keep Tony to start the season, how do they also bring in toughness AND a top flight center? The cost savings of buying ADA out have implications on roster construction.
So would you rather have ADA and a Center, ADA and toughness, or toughness and a center? |

I have someone fairly in the know in Winnipeg who thinks Maurice is a horrific coach, unable to make adjustments on the fly and misuses his personnel. - airjan23
Hmmm. Can't believe a fanbase would say such things about their coach!! |

Yeah, people say that like it's always the greatest thing. Then will scratch their heads if you breakdown that this means about 17 min./game for Panarin, 15 for LAF, 13 for Kreider and then the 4th line and special teams. |

I see. Yeah, Fischer would fill a need, if he can play, too. I literally know nothing about him.
I have no blind spot leading me to believe a trade for Schiefele is imminent or anything like that. Just a player I really like and would perfectly fill the center need we have. It's much like you and Barkov. He would be a phenomenal add, but why would Florida move him?
Winnipeg just went into a series as the favourites and got swept. After their star got himself removed from the playoffs. Fans seem to think Maurice should be on his way out. They just brought in PLD. It's just my wish list sprinkled with a little conspiracy theory! - Tonybere
Crouse and Fischer both had 13 points in 50ish games which isnt bad for 4th liners with limited time. |

I dont think its meant rigidly literal. I think its having the ability, to at any time, call out a line depending on what the game needs. |

It is definitely about proper usage. Look at someone like Matt Martin. He plays, maybe 10 minutes on a good night, yet Trotz always seems to have him out there when it is impactful.

For sure. But, when a game is going to plan, the lines generally get used in close to that manner. |

Ha.. LOL
But seriously, Tony D has been a problem since he got here, I have no idea why they didnt trade him when they had the chance. They give him 11 mil and then send him off to Siberia. Another example of mishandling of assets by Gorton. The hypothetical's of the amount of points he can have might be realistic but that ship set sail when they sent him home. They didnt get rid of him because they dont have room for him, they rid of him cause he was a cancer in the locker room. Supposedly. - Brukie
Wrong. He was well liked in the locker room. Look at what Staal said about him after the whole fiasco, look at what Miller said about him. This wasn’t bc he was a cancer in the locker room, they got rid of him bc him and Quinn couldn’t stand each other. |

Glad the rangers didn’t go after Josh Anderson. One goal and 1 assist in 12 games . Also in his playoff career he’s has something like 9 pts in 35 games |

I really honestly don't know
like Carp said in his column, Drury plays this so close to the vest, its hard to get anything out of him and its hard to read him
what I do know is that they didn't fire everybody to stay status quo
