Fleury reminds me of Brodeur. Great goaltender, but he never really played for bad teams either...aside from maybe at the beginning in Pittsburgh. - stinger67
I like how the habs started the game, they were aggressive and went straight to the net, you could see he was a bit shaky there, had the habs scored it could've been a very different game... they need to test him consistently.

Fleury didn't impress me yesterday.
Don't get me wrong, he got the job done. And made some key saves especially in the first.
But there's a good 5 times where he completely lost sight of the puck after making the initial save. It miraculously stayed under him or outside the net despite him moving like a maniac trying to find it.
With just a little luck, 1-2 of them go in the net.
We can win this.

i really hated the 2 goals that came off faceoffs. first was a pointless icing. second from what i recall, Price froze the puck when he easily could have played it. just small poop like that ends up leading to a goal.

They play in Montreal Friday and Sunday. And one of my friends is irate at them and the NHL for being able to fly in and out without any mandatory quarantine. - stinger67

The first was indeed annoying from a gus icing but for the second, Price could have put it back in play but maybe he didn’t like what was going on around him or the match-ups, he’s quite good at making those decisions |

how many more years of your life are you willing to lose over this? Be honest.
If you are sick, stay home. I agree.
Otherwise enjoy life. It's short. We are wasting it as we speak.
And I'm the crazy one cause I believe in freedom, human rights and dear god, life itself.
Lock me up!!!! |

otherwise, people should not be surprised. Vegas was a contender at the start of the season, not montreal. Take their number one defenseman out and it is what it is. |

Three things are very apparent from the game:
Need to watch for cross ice pass
Cover their man especially after defensive zone faceoffs
Petry needs to come back asap
Let’s see what happens when we have Petry and Evans back next game hopefully |

they are rolling back the measures elsewhere (the opening up) in the world and will most likely do the same here. That's the point. When will it be enough? |

if they need some goals, I would play Tatar.
That line is not producing much anyway |

Well, they are all fully vaccinated and tested daily. Not really the same as for the average Joe in the country right now. |

I was thinking of that maybe give him a chance for Game 2 and see how it goes |

can't be much worst than a 4-1 lost.
Danault and Gallagher stats are below average.
Tatar hasn't played in a while and that could be a problem.
But Lehkonen or Evans are not first liners. |

i assumed it was matchup related but i just thought they had enough time and space to move the puck and change on the fly. anyway it's nitpicky stuff but those goals off faceoffs are really annoying. |

With all due respect K I don’t think the penalties cost them anything but momentum.
Price missed few he didn’t see.
It won’t be a short series. - pete26

i believe that's incorrect. the players are not being forced to take the vaccine. and even the NHL deems a team "fully vaccinated" when only 85% of the players/coaches/trainers are jabbed. i think St. Louis had like 7-8 players opt out of the vaccine. there are definitely going to be people in their travelling party not vaccinated. |

Petry is clearly missed.
Romanov cannot come out (Gustafson sure can, though).
Price fantastic once again.
Habs can’t afford to play from behind. - Ovation
Last night, Habs worst D was Kulak. Not a fan of Gustafsson but Kulak played himself out of the lineup last night.
That being said, it's only one game, people need to calm the (frank) down (i.e: Mashadar and Habsolute tapette 009). |
