The Bruins core forwards aren't going to get any better or younger, The blue line Is currently an electrical tape job, Rask may retire. The Bruins window Is slamming closed. Rebuild! |

I’m not sure about that lol. The #1 line is simply outstanding! All locked up for 6 mil per. The core didn’t let this team down, the bottom 6 did and injuries to the defence.
The blue line needs work but it isn’t a tire fire. Goaltending is in question, but not the problem. |

Maybe. But every team in the cap era has a lifespan before falling. Not gonna have any more Detroit Dynasties with 20+ years of playoffs. I'll give Sweeney credit, Boston is the ONLY team I've seen do a successful cap era re-tool. Every other team does it for a few years and then fully rebuilds or remains in mediocrity. He got them back to contenders status and that's impressive on its own. |

Still have one of the best lines in hockey (on amazing cap hits) but they should just ... ... rebuild.

I agree a rebuild is coming but not with Bergy and Marchy still with 3 or 4 more good years left. |

the top two lines should be fine, not much going on below that, but thats a fixable problem.

supposedly thats why he's already been given such a long leash, so sweeney can prove he didnt completely blow the draft. That's always gonna be tied to sweeney. Considering this team traded Joe Thornton and Tyler Seguin, cant see why its not hard to get rid of DeBrusk. - 77emac77
If its any consolation, Calgary took Trevor Kidd 9 spots ahead of some plug named Brodeur in the 90 draft... Draft's are usually a crap shoot. |

Well, at least Kidd was ranked ahead of Brodeur at the time. Many teams might have made that call. 9 other teams passed on Brodeur.
But when Bruins were picking; Barzal, Connor and Chabot were all available. Instead of picking any of those three Bruins picked a guy ranked 38th?
Ironic for you though that NJ used a Flames pick to select Brodeur.

It's just time to move on from DeBrusk and that draft in general. We can drive ourselves insane with 'what if's' but plain and simple- DeBrusk just isn't what we need. He's not consistent enough to produce in the top 6 nor heavy enough to play in the bottom 6. He has NO impact on the outcome of games. Get what you can for him, get heavier in our bottom 6- add a top 4 D-man, resign Hall and Reilly and take another run at this thing while Marchy and Bergy have a couple good years left. |

He's got 1 year left on current contract and will be an RFA (with arbitration?) after that.
Try to trade him now? Or hope he ups his trade-value with a better season in 21-22?
