ill never forget learning about that trade. i was dumbfounded by the fact that we took on Scott Gomez and even gave up a useful piece like Chris Higgins to do so. then it came out that Ryan McDonagh was also part of the deal.

I can't see him coming back to MTL full time without having to explain in details over and over what happened. He will get traded for a prospect IMO...maybe after a few games to show he is back healthy.

if a player has a NTC or NMC, the team has to protect him yes.
unless they ask said player to lift his clause. then they can expose him and protect another player instead. like COL did with Johnson .
