Don’t disagree w your assessment of 13. No need to double there. Or at least be aware of players coming into play Center always responsible for third man low. He blew his coverage of trailing player (Palat) entering zone. - TogaIsles
Nobody thought Leddy or Barzal were good on that play. They were terrible which I wrote in every one of my posts. |

I don't particularly like how Barzy played it but originally it was just Kuch, Leddy and Barzy. Dobson was next back and covered the trailer. Because Kuch circled back high, Barzy had pinched in at this point. Palat, coming off the bench entered the zone on the opposite side of Barzy with Leo behind him by a couple of strides.
I'm okay with where Barzy went and I don't fault Leo because it was a bullpoop change that set Palat free.
You can watch it here
https://www.wfla.com/spor...-palat-for-go-ahead-goal/
It was a great play by Kuch, but leddy and Barzy simply didn't smother him - keaner17
My point was rather then cover nobody with Barzal stupidly out of the play Leo should have done something rather then show up after they already scored gliding thirty feet behind the play which I just watched again with your clip. In everyone of my posts I gave Leddy and Barzal their fair share of deserved bashing. |

“In 9:15 of five-on-five work, the line was on for one attempt for and 10 against with a 7.26 xGF%. Pageau himself was on for one attempt for and 12 against (5.7 xGF%) while Zajac went 2/15 and Palmieri checked in at 6/14. Matched primarily against the Barclay Goodrow-Yanni Gourde-Blake Coleman unit“
Pageau line has a bad night last game especially Zajac. If he has a repeat of that I would think Wahlstrom gets thrown in. Hopefully Pageau is ready to go and this line responds tonight. |

That whole play took a while to develop as Kucherov was buying time, so not really sure where Leo was on the ice that took so long for him to get back. Actually Eberle too. Anyway I’m over it. It’s game day. LGI!! |

The biggest issue was communication. There was NOTHING wrong with Barzal pinching down on Kuch, especially when Leddy had already lost him. They needed to switch off. The problem is he didn't go all in on him and played passive. Palat came out on a late change and was Leo's man. The confusion in the neutral zone caused him to be late picking him up.
I saw another view of the goal, which i will post if i can find, that showed Leo man on man with one player and Palat coming out for said player while the first guy stayed out. It was all about the extra man, which is why Barry said nothing about the coverage. |

100% and it was Leddy who initially gave him all of the time he needed followed by Barzal inexplicably coming over to do nothing along with him
Looking forward to tonight 💪 |

The effort just wasn’t there from anyone which I stated in every post I made in reference to it. Watching Leo glide in after the play which is such a common occurrence in both zones is/was hysterical. Problem is when you mention Leo someone gets triggered. I can go off on Barzal, Leddy, the entire (frank)ing team and you won’t hear a peep. Say one thing about Leo and the world is ending. This guy must be the most complete player on the team he does everything right. We should be able to get a bundle for him in the off-season I would think. Should trade him while his value is so high after demonstrating himself as this incredible first liner. Who would’ve thought?
As toga said I’m done with this one. Watch the clip again. It is really funny. That is all. |

I love the idea the entire team falls part if Leo is taken off the 1st line. It's a panic move if Barry puts Palms on the 1st line and if Wally plays on the 1st line the other team is going to score like crazy? |

The shocking thing with Leddy is how slow he has apppeared. He had a rough season defensively, but you could still see that acceleration as he would carry the play up ice. It simply hasn't been there during these playoffs. Either way, his salary looks very expendable at this point. Would be nice to package him a pick and Ladd for a stick of gum to Seattle |

Yep. Said it yesterday.
Would not surprise me at all to find out he had some sort of injury and has been playing through it best he can. While he may not be considered an iron-man, since joining the Isles he hasn't missed very many games in total.
Pretty durable.
I've watched Leddy since his time in Chicago and something is definitely off in his play. |

The funny thing is I actually have the mind set that we made it this far don’t change anything unless there’s a need to. Trotz has made lineup decisions that have worked so far in the playoffs. Paid off immediate dividends. Barzal has the majority of his points coming without Leo on his line but who cares we’re winning and that is all that matters. Now if we get in a situation where we need to score like last game I’m not going to ever agree with Leo being out there in the last minute along with Martin who was also out there. With all of this said don’t fix something that ain’t broke I’m not forcing Wahlstrom back into the lineup unless there’s a reason to put him in which there isn’t anything glaring right now.
If Zajac has another bad game then I would probably go that route.
Edit; I’ll also add no I do not believe everything falls apart if Leo is taken off the first line. He is not the glue that holds the team together. Though on here you would think he were sometimes |

I thought he had a pretty good regular season on both sides of the puck after a rough start. |

All true Cpt that the lines have worked so far but Tampa is truly an elite team. I loved how Barry made lines adjustments during the Boston series and I think he will do the same against Tampa. A more productive 1st line benefits the entire team.

Yep, could be. Don't think you can make it through a physical series like Boston and not have a few guys in the lineup who are playing a little banged up. And we obviously won't know who's dealing with what until after the season. |

Nah he is fatter now then he was a couple of years ago. Still a solid bottom 6 forward and a two time cup winner for sure. Still doesn't change the fact he is a slob - Isles
So you're logic went from him being afraid or Martin, who i doubt anyone is. To just liking beer too much.

Nobody is really complaining outside of a few who complain about everything. Point BS interference call and 7 guys on the ice washes out both goals. Tampa was the better team in game 2 and deserved the win. Don't come in here trying to stir shat up, Weird didn't see you around these parts after game 1. You're one those guys huh? - Isles
Not at all. The Lightning lost because they played like poop. Nothing to decipher there.
