Really, I thought Leddy could have played that a lot better...gave Kucherov waaay too much time and space to make the pass. - UIF
Leddy is having the kind of playoffs where I can’t wait to see him in a Seattle uniform. |

It’s funny when we say things like this and the player we say it about has a few awesome games immediately after
Hopefully that’s the case. With that said Leddy was pretty putrid last night (and some other games as well) but so was Pelech and pulock. Hopefully we see something different tomorrow. |

I had the unfortunate displeasure of seeing a shirtless Maroon celebrating at the Cup party in Tampa. He looks like a bearskin rug stuffed with pudding. Don't let his doughy look fool you though. He can throw the mits. He's no Bob Probert, but he did have a "fight" with Chara, and even attempting that takes some large nuts. He has stone hands though and his sole value on ice is gooning it up and board battles. He's pretty good at protecting the puck, but not very good doing anything with it that shows up on the scoresheet. - GalacticStone
He’s a great 4th line player. And prob at a reasonable rate. Does his job perfectly. Was mucking it up w Ross Johnston last yr, I believe in playoffs. I think guys were just busting balls. |

Leddy is not terrible and any d-man shouldn't feel too bad about getting exposed at this point in the playoffs. We are down to the top four teams in the league, and with the possible exception of Montreal, all of these teams can burn the best defense. I would trade Schenn and Rutta for Leddy any day. Last night was gonna be a rough night and there is no getting around that.

I think we’ll definitely see a better Isles team tomorrow night. No way Trotz doesn’t have them ready. If we get the game one isles, I’ll be happy. BTW, I know a lot of discussion has been the officiating on both sides and as a whole in playoffs, but Sorokin was phenomenal in relief. Really encouraging to see how well he played, especially coming in cold. He’s gonna be a beast - and may already be one. |

I like the big muldoon. He's great value for his contract. He knows his role and embraces it. He doesn't get into the low slot and crease area as much as I would like. I'd like to see more of an Andreychuk style from him. Get in there and get hit with point shots or tip them in. He's always off in a corner somewhere.

Sorokin would inspire a lot more confidence than McElhinney. If Vasi gets hurt, the Lightning are well and truly phucked.

Sorokin is cool as a cucumber. Nothing rattles him. He’s already a beast. Trotz won’t do it of course and I’m in no way saying he should before the usual parrots chirp away but if he threw him in tomorrow I would be completely confident and fine with it. He’s that good. |

Gotta have guys like that, especially this time of year. Stanley Cup teams are typically different makeup than Presidents trophy teams. Need to have a Gm that understands that. Fancy stats and stars are great but that goes by the wayside somewhat in the playoffs and typically doesn’t translate to a deep run. Need character guys or you’re gonna have a short run. My opinion of course. |

You could make the argument that Leddy was our best D-man last year’s playoffs so it’s kinda frightening how far he’s dropping off. He’s not young anymore either.

I don’t know I guess everyone just doesn’t know “WFT” they’re talking about. Must have not played in the elite beer leagues others did and Patty Lafontaine’s backyard. Watching fat Leo skate in twenty seconds after the puck went in alone twenty feet from everyone when there’s 7 opposing players on the ice means nothing. I didn’t realize Komarov needed to cover no one ever. It was every other islanders fault Barzal, Leddy, Eberle, out there besides fat Leo evidently not blown coverage on everyone’s part. Barzal and Leddy lamely “pressuring” Kucherov and Komarov dragging arse. The guy is just so good. All hail fat Leo the savior of the first line - Cptmjl
Leo is absolutely the best 1st line player to have ever cleared waivers twice in a season. |

He came in last night and after he made his first save I realized we would be ok. And he had to fend off some tough ones too. He’s so poised and as you say cool under pressure. Agree, Varly has been great of late but have all the confidence in the world with Sorokin too. |

Either Varly or Sorokin is a solid option. Trotz has two good choices and they are both correct. I was a little surprised to see him put Varly back in. Sorokin looked good and I thought they'd play it safe with Varly. I don't think it would have changed the outcome.

Agreeed. Way too much time and space - keaner17
Kuch made a nice cut back towards the blue line and Leddy almost blew a tire trying to keep up. Credit to Kuch, made a nice play, Leddy by no means is dismissed of fault.
At the time of the goal there were 3 Bolts in the zone and 3 Isles. Everyone covers a man we are ok. Barzal missed his check. |

sOrOkin was solid for sure. The best part is the fantasy GMs who had Varly or sOrOkin in net both earned points |

I don't particularly like how Barzy played it but originally it was just Kuch, Leddy and Barzy. Dobson was next back and covered the trailer. Because Kuch circled back high, Barzy had pinched in at this point. Palat, coming off the bench entered the zone on the opposite side of Barzy with Leo behind him by a couple of strides.
I'm okay with where Barzy went and I don't fault Leo because it was a bullpoop change that set Palat free.

It was a great play by Kuch, but leddy and Barzy simply didn't smother him |

I agree with everything you said but, Kuch was Leddy’s man and Barzal needs to put his head on a swivel and find a man. Leddy (frank)s up the coverage on Kuch then it's on him. Let him do his job and Barzal needs to do his. If you don’t then there are guys open.
Let’s hope they step their game up in game 3 or they will find themselves down a game. Which would suck |

Don’t disagree w your assessment of 13. No need to double there. Or at least be aware of players coming into play Center always responsible for third man low. He blew his coverage of trailing player (Palat) entering zone. |

Yeah. No offense, but I don’t understand your narrative sometimes. Why it’s you against the rest of the isles fans on here? We all want the same thing. We all also realize Trotz knows what he’s doing. Sometimes it just feels good to vent. PS Habs are up 2-0 currently on Vegas. Shots 14/11 Habs more than halfway through game. |
