Nuck up said something that stuck in my head yesterday. If Canucks can shuffle money around to take on Reinhart , then why not go one step further and try for Landeskog? I know it sounds absurd but if the team can afford Reinhart 6 mil and a 23 man roster why not add more and go with a smaller roster and go after a bigger fish? - VANTEL
You mean take on Reinhart AND Landeskog? That'd be a very top-heavy forward group... and you probably couldn't "shuffle around" the 12-13 mil it would take to get both of them. |

Didn't you want Ratcliffe as well? It's kinda sad Timmons, Hague, Robertson all went right around where we picked Lind.
BUT Lind has always taken awhile to start making an impact with each level up so I have patience with him.
Gadjovich is looking like he'll start the transition next season as well.
Dipeitro and Rathbone were the next 2 picks from the same draft - both have bright futures as well. - Brooks_Light
too soon to jump to conclusions. Some take more time to develop. A little more seasoning in the AHL. |

Some may not like this, but if we can make deals to get Marner here and have the cap work, I would do it. Guy is great in regular season, solid defensively and a fresh start would likely get that playoff monkey off his back. - Retinalz

Not sure why everyone is so focused on huge upgrades on the forward group, when the Canucks have one of the worst defense group in the league. |

I did. Canucks shifted their drafting to smaller skilled and now realizing they need some heavy players that can play

It’s crossed my mind as well. He’d be a massive addition here and the Swedish Mafia connection is there with EP/Hog/Edler and the Sedins.
A lot of the U-30 Swedes in the league now probably have a ton of respect for the Sedins so it makes sense to take advantage.
Landy is a beast who can score, also a team captain.
Quite a handsome man as well. |

I was thinking 9 mil would interest him more than the savvy well spoken Sedins .

Choose Landy instead of Reinhart - VANTEL
I would think some of the "shuffling" for Reinhart would be Buffalo taking on Rous or Beags. It would depend on how much $$ and term he wants... he's 28, and as you were pointing out yesterday on those big contracts for players signed at that age, it'll more-than-likely turn into an anchor before the contract is done. |

This how the numbers work with realistic shuffles. LE remains waived. LTIR kept on Beags & Rouss. Krak deal to take Holtby/buyout. Added 2 UFA RSD.

I think without even touching onto Beags Rous you look at Jake and Holtby. I don't see Jake returning for the obvious reason but I don't think Holtby played like a four million dollar goalie . If both are bought out it gives the Canucks around 6 mil in cap relief and they would use one of that to replace the goalie.
I think Canucks this year will make three moves . A top 6 , a Dman and a bottom 6 .
I think Noesek and Martinez plus a top 6

I like Nosek and Martinez. Nosek is an excellent forechecking 4th liner, would look great with Motte. Martinez has been awesome for the Knights.

I don’t blame them. Have you seen some of the daily temperatures down there? Hard to get into hockey when it’s 110 degrees outside.
Plus it’s a Canadian team playing. |

Hockey in general is more localized in the states. Most fans likely aren’t too interested in games that don’t involve their teams. |

What's skewed on viewership numbers is that most of Vegas market is non-household. So all the visiting population were exposed to the TV's with the game on. |

Why waste a buyout on Holtby? His contract expires at the end of the season. He'll have some value as a depth pick up at the trade deadline being an experienced Goalie with no term. |

I was wondering after listening to drama guy Dahliwal say this is going to make two years in a row Canucks let Quinn Hughes partner walk.
The poll they ran had over 800 votes and it was very close to a 50/50 split about should Canucks sign Hamonic .
He is going to want probably 3x3 . Doesn't that make it a contract very similar to Roussel Beagle Pearson? |
