If the Krak don't need a Highmore/ZacMac in their line up. Then a B prospect deal to take Holtby would save a buy out and clear cap, in time, for a draft day trade and free agency. |

Lordy's a nice fella, but none too bright. Jesus, just look at Beagles stats, he was terrible in the playoffs that year. He was expected to defend and his Corsi and Fenwick were so terrible to go with his 11 shots in the playoffs and 2 points.
Everyone with an ounce of intelligence could see that goaltending carried them in both the Blues and Knights series, they'd have lost four straight if it wasn't Markstrom and Demko. St. Louis's goaltending was just awful in that series, the Canucks beat them despite being outshot 229 to 165 and Binnington had a .851 save percentage to Markstroms .920
Things were even worse in the Vegas series, the Canucks were outshot 271 to 164 and Demko had a save percentage of .985 - DraftandDestroy
lol ouch. I do love a good bottom 6 picnic in here. just drop Beagle, Sutter and Rousell's names and in about 12 posts they are all here lol

LH also said Toffoli is not a playoff performer so there’s that..... - golfingsince
I'll give the guy credit he looked stale and right out of it for a round and a half but good on him for bringing his game around. Would love to se the Habs bounce Gary's team. We took Vegas to 7 last year...I think the Habs can win this. |

Prior to this year he had 11 goals and 14 assists in 54 playoff games. 38 point pace.
LH was correct if he was referring to Toffoli’s perform prior to these playoffs |

Yeah, you’re gonna need more food if you think that any fan that doesn’t agree with a $10 m 4th line is at a picnic.
I like your coping mechanism though. Why question yourself when you can just pretend it’s all about something else. |

So what you’re saying is that we won one playoff round in all the years of those contracts in a year that we might not even have made them without a play-in.
Oddly enough, we also had Taney and Edler during those playoffs playing more impressive minutes but for the past 4-5 years it’s been get rid of them from you.
I guess we’ll now refer to you as the 975k defence crowd. - golfingsince
They took Vegas, cup favorites, to 7 games and 5 mins left of round 2, defeated the previous cup Champs. They showed that they can battle and win in the playoffs by bringing their game up a notch. Once they get a real bottom 6, not just a couple players propping up some has-beens, they will compete for a good while. |

He had 2 bad playoff years when they were bounced 1st round with 1 point in 9 games. Aside from that he’s been good in the playoffs including 4 in 7 last year.

Well they're ALL effectively gone now. But there are plenty of UFA vets that can perform better going forward, at short term low AAV, this off season. You could have many bottom 6 combos like below.
Motte, Tyler
$1,225,000
LW, RWUFA - 1
Wennberg, Alexander
$3,500,000
EditCUFA
undefined
Podkolzin, Vasily
$925,000
RWRFA - 3
undefined
Highmore, Matthew
$725,000
LW, RWRFA - 1
Gaudreau, Frédérick
$1,500,000

MacEwen, Zack
$825,000

As shown by the numbers the Canucks can try to make big moves. JB has stated this too. This wait another season narrative only applies if Canucks miss out on their top player targets. - NuckUp

Ok well that’s kind of contrary to the notion that those has been a carried us. Like lefty said and anyone who watched knows goaltending carried and continues to carry us. |

No physical or doctor has put any person on LTIR yet. Ferland COULD pass his physical and be play eligible. Same goes for Beagle. No one is effectively gone until they are deemed gone by professionals. |

His production went down in the post-season, LH would’ve been correct prior to these playoffs.
Good on TT for stepping up |

The funny thing is that Toffoli can do nothing from this day forward for the next 3 seasons and his contract is perfectly justified (according to the LH logic.)
Hey if a handful of games justifies multi-years of overpayment, Toffoli should be negotiating an extension right now. |

Reports are, even by agent, they're getting bridged. Range combo $12M. Cap scenarios for making moves take this range. Cap shuffle moves carried out after new player additions.
Look for Petey and QH signed before draft. As posted and reported July, mid-late, will be a very busy month. Sure until then everything we post is speculation. But the info we do have gives us a direction. |

Oh wait, yeah I guess I can. |

I mean I guess if we always write off a player’s 2 worst playoff seasons then almost every player’s playoff production must be solid |

The Canucks have a shade over 14 million in cap and even if they hypothetically get them at 12, how are they able to go after anyone in free agency without a doctor approval to either play or not play. You can't buy into free agency with money you are banking will go on LTIR without the player actually going on LTIR |
