The fastest way for them to close that loophole would be for the Canucks to use it. As soon as JB made those move... BAM.. rule changes and penalties (Canucks only).

I listened to Button yesterday and as a cranky old guy I can relate to what he was saying. He was basically yelling why would any team want to go long term? He said so many teams get into trouble going long term.
I know some would like 7 or 8 year deals but I am not one of them. I am quite happy paying for 3-4 year deals . If it is your star players 5 max for me . That is my personal choice. - VANTEL
I'd say make short term deals up to UFA-1 then lock-in what you know for more prime years. If no deal then easier to trade before UFA. |

This would be the best for management, I doubt the players agree though. |

Should be a fun July. Freidman thinks it is going to be very active . This year I can see it with the flat cap and the E Draft - VANTEL
Rumors abound in June. But nothing will happen until July. Then expect a flurry of activity. Especially for Canucks. Starting with e-draft through draft and free agency where there will be massive changes. There's even a whole AHL team to make for Abby.

I hope so but I think Joe is going to get a Rolex and a handshake.

And rumours that they’ll let Hyman test the market. They somehow get even softer |

Yup. He looks done. He also looks like he could be Dubass’ father so he should be able to squeeze another one year deal out of Dubass

Hyman wants 6x6 . It would be sort of funny and sad if their window is closing already. I can't see Bogasian signing again for a mil.

Make it policy and back load so they know next deal starts higher. If they don't agree trade them. |

Slippery slope. Would you be willing to take on a contract like Hughes, as an example, that pays him 3, 5 then 7 and he continues his poor defensive play? |

If that's the case, yikes, no thanks. Good for him if he can get it. Hopefully he likes playing in Buffalo, Detroit, or Ottawa? |

This seems almost a reality. Beagle widely reported to join Ferland retirement LTIR. Roussel with another knee injury just get him surgery. Tell him we'll bring you back for playoffs if we make it.
LE is the tricky one now with no cold bussing Utica hell scare. Maybe Sedins can convince him to stay laid up in Dallas with some mental post P1 fatigue |

Eriksson 6 x $6m
Beagle 4 x $3m
Roussel 4 x $3m
Myers 5 x $6m
Why would you a) omit Vancouver from your list and b) assume that he would get said contract from one of these terrible teams? Do you honestly believe that the Sens are signing an over achieving 3rd liner to this, or Yzerman is stupid enough to commit that?
More like the Flyers, Bruins, Penguins, Panthers etc who hope to be cup contenders. |

Unfortunately, that’s what the agent will push for on a short term bridge, if you want to lower the average.
Jim should push for even distribution |

Yes, because he's young and can be traded on potential of improving. Even Barrie got value back. |

I just glanced at their cap space, and Van couldn't afford that no need to get testy |

I’m not testy, just funny who Canuck fans consider to be the worst teams in the league…
