Nice signing. Easy signing but nice signing.
Now get him two new line mates at that same price. - The Law
And make sure those guys aren't Simmonds and Thornton. |

3 way trade.
Leafs trade whatever to chicago and some other team....team B
Chi trades J Toews to team B with 50% salary retained, team B then trades toews to leafs while retaining 40% of toews 5.25m.
Boom!
2nd round!
Whatever i know its impossible, but today....today is my day to believe it to be true.

Both are playing on affordable contracts. But if you want a different look you can replace both of them in UFA where you usually overpay. I'd go after Goodrow, Haula, Kuraly, Nosek, Perry, Glenny. But Dubas likes the Corsi boys so I doubt he'll have interest in any of them. |

I can’t even do that anymore, and I only order 10 chicken wings now instead of the 50 I could eat when I was younger. |

IIRC Getzlaf said it's Ducks or retirement. |

From last blog.
Would I take J Toews if Chi get 50% of the contract?
Toews at 5.25 for two years?
Yeah I would.
Plus he could be on IL for a while no?
Open up some cap space?
Move Toews to the wing on one of the top lines. Damn! - Fakepartofme
With his face-off skills he should stay at C. Even if that's as a shut-down 3rd-line C that can score. That's not too bad for 5.25M and having 3 lines that can make an impact. In todays NHL depth is key - especially in post-season.

Whatever, it's Tampa... They could have $130M as long as their healthy players stay on IR until the playoffs start |

Leafs need a sledgehammer line like the Isles and Tampa both have.

Well yeah - I was responding to Fake's suggestion of moving him to wing.
Won't be moving him to wing on Leafs unless ... ... ... he can still play.
