Washington didn’t win the world series after Harper left?? Well, I guess in his introductory press conference after signing with philly he did say “bring a championship to Washington” so….

& who was the face of that team??? A teenager named Soto. He was able to elevate/bring a team together when Harper wasn’t year after year.

There are a lot of teams that probably think they can make something of Patrick. A top 15 pick, and prospect of your choice, and a 6’ 5” young defenseman with a bomb of shot, skates like the wind, plays physical, who is coming off a down season after a very good one.

For a guy who will be gone one way or another next year and is only willing to play for a select few teams.

Yeah I’m sure they’d just hang up the phone, I doubt that would be a conversation starter. Anything they get is a steal.

JD250 specifically called out the 3 things that I posted as what it took to get Jones, which is what I was saying . I don’t think they want the pile of broken players you just suggested either.

Selling a Sanheim to get a Jones, make him part of that package. Selling a Sanheim to make room for a similar, maybe a little better FA who is older with no upside, pass. You can't solve one problem and not have a solution for the new one created, is no bueno

He is talking about Jones separately from the slightly better FA.

I don't agree with what you state in Carolina. He wants to re-sign there. Carolina just doesn't want to pay him what he's asking for. I think Carolina is playing it like see what's out there and then come back to us and we'll see what we can do.

No it probably will. They are trading one of the top commodities in the NHL. One of the hardest players to obtain. A legit top pairing RH defenseman.

They'll want an established NHL forward, established NHL defenseman and a pick or prospect. Patrick doesn't qualify. May want Sanheim over Myers.

Sanheim plays physical??? I haven’t seen any of that. 6’5 181 lbs string bean. NAK who is almost a foot smaller weighs more than Sanheim.

No it's not. A 1st round pick could be 2-3 years out. They want NHL ready assets as the main part of the deal by all reports.

I’m not saying Frost can’t be in it. I’m saying I didn’t suggest Frost. Another guy I wouldn’t care if he was in the deal.

This team needs a total shakeup. Farabee, Provorov, and Hart would be the only players I wouldn’t trade or let go on the whole team.

It’s all speculation, but word is he only wants to play in a few places. So only the teams that are signing him and getting that extension are going to be giving up a lot. And how many teams is that? 2? 3?

Maybe someone takes a shot and goes for him knowing he’s a rental, but the package goes down. Columbus is against it. They can hold out as long as they want for the “package of their dreams”. He’s leaving and teams aren’t dumb. They aren’t going to get nearly what is being thrown around in here.

Trading for a defenseman that has been hurt a ton and his metrics are falling off a cliff. We can play this game all day.

There is no question that the Flyers can make moves to improve as a team. Hell that's bound to happen even if they do little. Again, to what end? Most of the moves being reported and discussed, the most likely outcome is that the Flyers will be agood team that is not good enough and is cap strapped lacking cap flexibility. If the Flyers are smart, they look to add true difference makers or the opposite end. Short term vet stop gaps. Noting in the middle. No more Kevin Hayes type deal.

any add has to be an impact player, it could be FA or it could be trading a good player for a good player with speed or grit. I don't mind adding picks or prospects to get the right guy. If you can land Jones or Hamilton for a reasonable cost and you have the depth in the areas you had to trade from or a plan to replace, then you pull the trigger.


First chance to go all in would be the trade deadline, if they really had a full bounce back from the young kids and the vets are playing well, you might add. If it is questionable, you hold and don't overpay for a pipe dream.

I do think CF is of that mind, besides Hayes he really has been careful and I think they had no choice on Hayes.
