I expect Vegas to step it up and win decisively tonight. Let's say 4-1 with Stone scoring the EN while crying. - Symba007
Nah, Fleury has a meltdown in Montreal 5-3 Habs. |

I wonder if the ratings would simply be better if it was the rare "All East" Finals because the time demographics would be more fsvourable? - AdamFrench
Who knows, the fabled east coast bias makes it hard to know. I'd be willing to bet NY v MTL does better numbers than Tampa v Vegas but it's impossible to prove either way |

You can tell by the Byron goal in game 2.
We're in his head.
And he hasn't even heard the "Fleeuuuuuryyyyyy" chants in Montreal yet. |

I can't wait to hear those.
Also I hope Ducharme doesn't plan on the Merill Gustaffson pairing again... that pairing made me puke in my mouth. |

NY might get the tri-state area to hate watch so you definitely would have that. |

Merrill isn't my favorite guy, but unlike Kulak in game 1, he didn't do any glaring mistakes that cost us goals.
Same with Gus... and his presence on the powerplay is much needed.
The only guy I'd consider bringing back is Romanov but I'm not sure we can afford any "learning" mistakes on his part at this point.

My problem is they play 5 minutes of hockey a game, while the top 4 are worked into the ground. That's asking for trouble imo. Also can we afford any sucking mistakes on that bottom pairing's part? |

Surveys and polls have said that for years but realistically who cares, it's a dumb title for fans to puff their chests over but ultimately a whole lotta meh.
I'd hate watch the Leafs if they ever won a series |

They never play together.
Always paired with one of the top 4 guys to make sure someone covers for them.
It's worked so far. I wouldn't stop.

Can’t say i knew that...but you can’t fix stupid. You can however fix a loophole in the rules and it’s quite simple. When a player spends the season on LTIR his salary doesn’t count so that his team is not handicapped and can compete at the same level as the other team. Come playoffs time, the team who beneficiated from that and are now getting their player back should have to submit a playoffs roster list which is cap compliant. Meaning they’d have to pick between their regular player or the replacement they got for him, they couldn’t have both. That would be in the spirit of the rules. - Karine Hains
agreed, 100%... have there been any actual talks across the league to make such changes, or is it just fans pointing it out for now..?

it's missing fireworks and techno music though, to be a truly accurate depiction of a medieval castle

i think only Winnipeg could ever be a team that unites Canadians because it's.... Winnipeg. Toronto/Montreal are obviously out. and everyone hates the Canucks. i hate them and i don't even know why. the Oilers are just an absolute affront to hockey fans everywhere. Calgary would never get Edmonton/Vancouver behind them. Ottawa would cause Leaf fans to spontaneously combust.
but Winnipeg is just kinda... there. |
