Montreal and Vegas tied at 1 after 2. Guess who scored for the Habs? - DarthKane
Nice goal on the breakaway I'll agree.

Helluva game - Montreal and Vegas in OT. by the way, the refs put away the whistles. Perry is a bloody mess. |

Would not be surprised if hawks trade back to pick up more assets. They shouldn't but could happen. - Scott1977
I would be all right with that I am not sold on any of the players in the Hawks vicinity on the draft boards I have seen think there could be some gems later in the draft this year .Still would not be surprised if Stan grabbed a goalie this draft in the 1st ,don't want all your eggs in one basket . |

I would be giving Lehner a shot Fleury looks like he fighting the puck since last game . |

First time Vegas faces an NHL goalie and are really struggling to score, shocker |

Maybe but that is why you pay him 5 mil Fleury looks shaky and Price is showing what a 1st rd Goalie can do for a mediocre team . |

I read on here recently that the Hawks could beat the Habs in a 7 game playoff series. If so, maybe they can beat Vegas, too. |

Ha ha. Yeah... Maybe if Dach, Reichel, Boquist, Kalynuk, Beaudin and our #11 pick develop well, in 2023 we'll beat the Habs.
It's going to be tough for VGK because they threw everything they had against Price tonight and still lost. They outshot the Habs by like 43-23. That game tying goal by the Habs was an amazing bit of unluck for Fleury in handling the puck. Then again, VGK did the same in Game 2 against the Avs, lost and then won 4 games in a row. |

We're on Oahu. The inlaws live in Manoa right by the University of Hawaii. My father in law is a contractor and is building some properties on Ewa Beach so we were there yesterday.
We come out here every year (except for last year due to the shutdown) and tend to stay on Oahu. Been to the Big Island once and Kauai once, too. Believe it or not, never been to Maui.
I thought it would be hot here but apparently it's hotter in Chicago and even in the Bay Area where we live now. - Theo Fox
Impressive that you continue to put out blogs while on vacation! I'm currently in the other territory that became a state in 1959! Enjoy your time away! |

I don't care how hard you work if you do not have the necessary talent then another player who "outskills" you will do just that. Working hard every shift is important but it will NOT win games. Do you really believe Kaner gives it his all when he is in the defensive zone...nope, he doesn't because that is not where his skill set is. To assume or imply that all it takes is hard work and you will win is wrong...it takes "STD's" Skill Talent & Dedication |

Fleury is very.good. Price still the best. Fleury is probably tired, maybe physically and mentally he could use a break. But that would mean Lehner and he will be rusty and surely blow a few goals.. |

Fleury has always had trouble in big games. Remember when he was with Pittsburgh, he was always so unpredictable when the playoffs rolled around. |

Yep, but it goes to show the easier route to the SC finals is a big advantage. If the Habs win the whole thing then no team is that far away from winning a SC. I've heard here and other places many times just make the playoffs and if you get hot goal tending and timely scoring anything can happen. I'll add, better coaching. |

I'm casually watching the Habs Knights series. And it seems to me that while the Habs are giving up space for Vegas to shoot, meaning lots of shots, they are not giving up time, meaning not enough time to pick corners. Meanwhile Price is solid and not letting the puck go through him. Vegas is hitting Price with shots. It sounds funny to say a team is playing good defense while getting outshot 2 and 3 to 1, but if the opposition doesn't have time to pick a corner or make a clean back door play, the defenders jump on the rebounds, and the goalie is solid then the Habs have shown they can not only hang in there but they can win. I'm not so sure they can win four games in seven, but Vegas has a real handful right now. Interesting series.
The Habs are seriously outgunned but playing tough. |

This! Hustle only gets you so far which is why I think a guy like Hagel has peaked, will wear down and not develop further.

I believe Hagel has some talent still to develop. But the point about needing talent is spot on. In an effort to give HawkintheD another opportunity to call me a troll....the Hawks need more talent. |

What makes you think Hagel has peaked? You seem to see a guy who’s only talent is his hustle. I see a guy who hustles, plays a somewhat physical game, who’s decent defensively, is a good playmaker but more importantly to me, he thinks the game quite well. And no I don’t think he’s a top six forward but I do see a guy who can be spotted in the top six similarly to how Shaw was. |

Yes, all three of the calls on Vegas weren't called.
I guess I will always be an underdog guy, but I get happy everytime isles and habs win.

I know that you keep stating that and beating that dead horse, but you are right on, the Hawks need more talent. When I see Hagel on the fourth line, then I’ll know that we have added talent. I like Hagel, but realistically he’s a fourth line player on a good team, maybe he can move up on occasion when injuries occur, but that’s it. We need two good forwards with skill and size and two good dmen with size as well. Z needs to go and sorry to say, I have now seen enough of Keith, I don’t even want to see him for limited minutes. Just my $0.02 |

Not enough can be said about that big four Hab defenders.
Weber
Petry
Chiarot
Edmundson
All three are very quick, hard, and solid with their sticks in wall battles. They stay focused and close on everybody.
#6 Weber is on a mission; hit Cole Caufield after the whistle and see what happens to you when play resumes.
Continue reading comment here about "small" and size matters, but what really fun to watch
Brendan Gallagher 5 9 180
Paul Byron 5 9 165
Artturi Lehtonan 5 11 185
Young Nick Suzuki a 200 pounder at 5' 11
never not hitting the Vegas defense in pursuit.
So you don't draft for height, but for bite.
I am not sure when I watched all the Victoriaville games prior to the Hawks taking him that #24 would turn into such difference matter.
TALENT comes in many ways on the way to the Cup. It shows prior to the playoffs.

And yet 90% of this board doesn’t even want to offer Nylander a minimum contract. |
