Maybe his back is sore from carrying the Sedins

Jim should do this in the first practice

Kind of baffling that Vancouver management can never find a "creative" way to legally get around cap mismanagement but other clubs can???

Absolutely. Even though this kind of behavior is offending to some.

Two remaining players in the playoffs that I really like are Corey Perry and Matt Martin.

They could easily be two of those players in that photo

People on the internet, not this particular fan base. Go read through the Leaf thread, it’s a mirror or this one. On second thought, just take my word for it and save yourself an hour and 30 brain cells.

Lol

Leafs cap strapped & Hyman only cost 2.25m. So if I were him I’d test free agency & not eat it cuz others overpaid.

You can add the Kraken to Lefty & Nuckers portfolio's as well next season.

Canucks would need to fire Green and hire Lane Lambert, Trotz right hand man if this team was seriously to play defensive hockey. That’s right in one year they were worst defensive team coached by Doug Weight and anchored by Panama BOy in his prime to one of the most structured D teams. They drafted some good D and had total buy in from the forwards to the D. Trotzes system are team based low event hockey. Back on the left coast we are Stuck with JB and Green, expected some brutal D but high event hockey at least unti Green and JB are gone. Next years Canucks will be last in goals against.

Maybe. But watching the islanders is painful. Trash hockey

This yearly narrative that Canucks shouldn't make big moves seems stuck on draft saviors. On the other side cap dumping LE at cost of MdP and Lind is crazy. Sorry NH.

The model is there for cap shuffles and bridging RFA's. Target 2 top players the cap is there. Just don't spend on middle ones, like Hamonic/Hyman, and go with 21 player roster.

Flyers and I'm going to keep a close eye on the Kraken just for fun to see how good, or bad, they can be.

Gonna be interesting this off-season to see how active the Canucks management, I say management because I know/think Aquilini is playing President of the club, is as far as trades and free agency. Like it was said earlier, their lack on on-ice success over the past seven years leads me to believe Benning knows his time is almost up if he doesn't turn things around quickly.

Happy Father's Day to all you dads!

My gift to you - a new blog, with some thoughts on Travis Green, Newell Brown, the playoffs and maybe Ristolainen is the guy to try to pry out of Buffalo?

You know from the previous week's postings. The challenges lead eventually to spend above cap too much for FA. The answer is its less actual money. Frontloaded contracts and Insurance minimize actual spend.

Let's see how that works out signing the 2 high profile free agents you mentioned.

I’m still waiting for the MTA to see if Benning can clear up some cap space for himself

He's trying to find a way to get OEL as well.

Good news is that it looks like BOS has twice the amount of cap space.
