It is criminal that the public has not been told about what is wrong with toews
- LFS

That is private information, it will not be released unless the employee (in this case Toews) agrees to release said information. It’s called HIPAA…

What Information Is Protected
Information your doctors, nurses, and other health care providers put in your medical record
Conversations your doctor has about your care or treatment with nurses and others
Information about you in your health insurer’s computer system
Billing information about you at your clinic
Most other health information about you held by those who must follow these laws

It is his personal life and nobody needs to know. Nothing criminal so stop moaning about it. If and when he's ready to say something he will.

There are reasons (yes, plural reasons") why Bowman AND the organization, is secretive.
And I am sure if another player, most likely the same conduct is expected.

For reason one, out of respect to the career and the struggle whether Toews is able to return..

Also tied Into the first reason is how reason number two overlaps. Toews needs to satisfy his own mind whether he can return and in what capacity. Even should Bowman and any players or management know, they duly noted how well treated to be a Blackhawk and therefore respect the friendship and business aspects

An equally important plus an overriding concern too, is reason three: ensure Toews gets paid without retiring, and the correct most beneficial hockey decision to legally work means playing your cards correctly.

This is part and parcel to The Expansion Draft. And if Toews ever plays again, he must go through protocol. A doctor must sign off whether Toews is able to play again next season and, if applicable yet, ever again.

Reason 4, don't need to give up anymore leverage with other teams.

Just to humor you, what Stan did this past year with no revenue coming in was cheaper and probably just as good as Crawford. Our record had little to do with goaltending and you don't know how good or how many games 36 year old concussed Crawford would play.

It's obviously fun to kick around different trade scenarios, it's why this board exists and what draws so many of us back for the spirited discussion of each players abilities (or lack thereof), cap considerations, etc., etc., etc.

Any of these recently posted deals need to be taken with a grain of salt. The "experts" can plainly see what the Hawks need and what they have. Knowing the lack of a #1D, its easy to say they are involved in Hamilton or Jones deals. Knowing there are question marks about Toews, its easy to connect the dots to them being "interested" in Eichel. Knowing Stromes situation, it's easy to speculate that he is trade bait. All of these can be easily deduced by an average NHL follower, no need to be an expert or an insider.

Logically speaking however, why would the Hawks include Dach in any deal for Jones or Eichel. How does trading a 20 year old improve you team moving forward. Eichel is a star player, what has he won in BUF, in his 6 seasons he has never led a team to a .500 record and never made the playoffs with what some could argue better rosters than what the Hawks currently have. Same with Jones at both NSH and CLB.

While the upcoming #11 pick may be fair game in a trade, my guess is that there are still a few untouchables on the roster, including Dach.

Thanks Theo - I would hate to see the #11 pick used on a goaltender....yes it is am important position, but I think a #1 Dman is a much higher need.

I wonder why you did not include Craig Anderson in your list of veteran backstops as options next season? Just wondering if there is any interest by hiss family to get back "home" before he retires?

- powerenforcer

1ST Please do not go after Eichel stay the course draft best player available .Hate is such a strong word right now if you look at playoffs all the final 4 are using a 1st rd pick in net (Lehner is a 2nd) .Are you going to get a number 1 D man or Center at 11 not real likely but very good chance at a number one goalie .I think Stan would have used it last year on Askarov he may or may not this year but I know I will not hate it if he has the guts to .
