Thanks Theo - I would hate to see the #11 pick used on a goaltender....yes it is am important position, but I think a #1 Dman is a much higher need.
I wonder why you did not include Craig Anderson in your list of veteran backstops as options next season? Just wondering if there is any interest by hiss family to get back "home" before he retires? - powerenforcer
Just a simple oversight on my part. The list I had on the blog of UFA goalies was just a sampling, not an exhaustive one.
I wouldn't have an issue if the Hawks kicked the tires on Anderson as a possible last hurrah for him to play back at home. |

Strome, once he got slotted again as a winger, on a team short on centres .... pretty = done in Chicago.
He's got no future in Chicago, regardless of Toews' situation. Plus when he was out injured, there's nothing showing that the team missed anything that he brought. |

He obviously was holding Dinky back.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't . He's had concussions but no neck surgery. Wrist, core muscle and broken jaw surgery I believe. - GPHawksfan
You are correct. He got a shot in his neck. My bad.
Mario Lemieux had a herniated disk operated on 40 years ago and was still really good after that.
Dwight Howard and Andy Murray both had success after herniated disk surgery though those were in their back not neck.

I think he did a good job improving his footspeed over the off season.
I do think though you have to take a decent self assessment and say if I'm not going to ever be burning fast I may as well have a heavy ass. (here all week)
6'3 and an even 200 is probably not where he should be. He could probably put on 15-20lbs and more than likely get quicker. I'm not for putting on weight just to put on weight but hes one of those fellers that could use a few extra cheese burgers or steaks.
Toews is kinda slight up top but that dude has some serious thunder thighs. |

Then you would know that it actually would be criminal to release the information - tvetter[/quote
]i understand that it cant be released without toews consent...other athletes have revealed their ailments. i am saying he should , not that he has to.

Different type of surgery than what Eichel wants. |

Actually it does cover the Hawks. If Toews went to an outside MD first, and that MD then provided any information to the Hawks and their medical staff, then the Hawks would be the covered entity subject to HIPAA regulations, and therefore could not disclose any learned information unless given right to do so. If Toews first went to the Hawks and their medical staff first, unless they had a signed stmt from Toews granting them permission to disclose the information publicly, then it would be illegal for them to release it. In either case, regardless of which side becomes the "covered entity", disclosure without Toews permission would be a violation.
Regardless of any of this, what makes anyone think that being a fan gives you the "right" to know anything. Buying a ticket, watching a game, buying souvenirs, being a season ticket holder, betting on games, etc., none of it gives you any right to any personal, medical, or even day to day lineup information. - TheTrob
Today, in this tech world there is no privacy. Every detail of your medical bio is obtainable for the right price. Very sad, but true. |

Indictments will be handed down today against the Hawks and Toews for withholding his personal health information. |

And when they’re found guilty everyone involved should be hanged, drawn and quartered. |

If you look deep enough, you'll discover that it all goes back to Bettman. |

Of that I have no doubt and it’s all because of his hatred of the Hawks. |

You've been stubbornly unaccepting of these clear and obvious facts; but it appears the meds are finally beginning to work. |

Unless the price for Eichel is very, very reasonable, I would stay away. I would not give away valuable assets for the unknown, which at this time it’s his neck injury. Again, stay the course, we are not winning a cup in the next two years. |

Lots of talk about possible trade targets like Eichel or Jones. What about Laine? Buy low on a big right shot to put opposite Kane?.. as long as we're all imagining.. |

And there’s no chance Buffalo wants something reasonable. I’m not sure even McDavid is worth giving up the future for because it would take forever to build a team around him after giving up so much. |

Laine isn’t worth the $5M he’s currently making and there’s no chance he’ll accept less. Besides he’s a lazy flake. |
