That's cool, I like Necas. Was just thinking of pieces that are ready to help, Bean would be your 2LD, Bokk is ready to hit the Ice. Gives me a chance to trade back with Seattle and have them either take a player from are roster, or I want you to select Callan Foote from Tampa and he comes to Buffalo in the trade. And Carolina doesn't really have many camp dumps and they have 26m in cap space. Kracken gets Power, I get Bernier and Foote.

Ready to help next season? Is it really a good idea to have that be the goal in trades? I know it's poopty but being bad again next season might be the best way forward.

Perhaps I haven't seen enough of Kent Johnson (probably not nearly enough) but I don't get what makes him a 2nd overall, or even top-5 for me. Same with Clarke.
- Michael Pachla

Kent has a ton of high end skill, but he's not the best skater, which is not a huge deal as that's something he could definitely improve upon with professional coaching.

Still gonna need players to fill spots when Jack and Rhino get traded, and those players are for know and the future. I am sick of hearing next year next year. People want to be bad again next year fine, I personally don't.

He's definitely a guy the Kraken will want and need for playoff hockey.

It was an epic beatdown. No other way to frame it

I think it's really only 23 that needs to be replaced. Jack wasn't here for most of last year and we've got enough bodies to replace Risto (not to mention potential addition by subtraction).

If I can add better pieces than I have know why wouldn't I, just gives me more depth that is needed and more pieces to use in trades to make my team hopefully better.

This draft is largely about beauty in the eye of the beholder. Who (do you think) will make the biggest overall impact once fully developed? The all situations, high end defender? The 200' power forward center? The elite skill offensive finesse center? Or maybe you'd like the two high end wingers? One is better, but he's smaller. Or maybe you'd like that awkward elite offense defenseman who needs some real refinement in his own end. Or, maybe you'd like that defender who has the potential to pot the points and be effective in his own zone, but needs a few years to refine those skills. Or maaaaybe you want that high end goalie.

There's no McDavid but there's a whole lot of 2014 picks 1-10 here.

Few if any desire this layer of hell. But as it stands, we'll be sitting here next year, too.

What matters is, does the beam of light shine through the ceiling next year. Can they progress, can they build something, can they be an organization to where guys truly see the potential, and that potential is met?

The bold is how you end up doing the 2015 offseason all over again.

Do you think it's a good idea in an offseason where you're trading your 2 best players to take that approach? Sure doesn't seem as that's the best idea.

Proposal: Ristolainen at 50% retained (cap hit of $2.7M) to PITT for 2021 2nd round pick, Juuso Riikola (LHD), and Samuel Poulin (LW, RW).

Sabres are in a much better spot today than they were in 2015. Don't you think?

Wheeler's top 100. He has Kent Johnson #2, Guenther at 6. Power(s) at 1

https://theathletic.com/2...-players-top-the-ranking/

I could definitely see a scenario where the Sabres use 3 on Kent Johnson, seeing as Kevyn is developing a propensity to grab the guy with the highest ceiling instead of someone who is more pro ready like Beniers.

- TheSabresTaco

Lots of people would dislike Johnson here his 5v5 he only had 12 points this year he be fun like ennis though

Never say never, but Kevyn's going to need to perform serious gymnastics to craft a competitive team with playoff aspirations. I don't see it today, but I sure hope to see it tomorrow. You go with what we have today, what the expected returns are for our best players, and we have a bunch of kids, Jeff Skinner and Kyle Okposo.

How does Kent Johnson compare to, say, Cole Caufield?

Press play. I'll be happy to take their last remaining viable prospect.
