And they are in the conference finals.

Plan the parade. They've won as much as the Leafs. It's win the cup or go home

But he was the 4th highest scorer in the NHL.

Well what in the (frank) are we still doing talking about a Stanley cup if we've already won the 4th highest scorer in the league award. Can someone please let me know when they plan on raising the banner for that I want to make sure I get my ticket well ahead of time. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Now, Joel - Marner is only 24 years old and is in his prime. A team should never, ever give up on a player of his pedigree despite the consistent lack of success when it matters most. Why? Because one of these years he might actually have a good performance!

We need to keep running this grand experiment year-on-year and ignore the results because the jackpot is going to hit one day, baby! I promise.

I think its reasonable to have concerns over Campbell's ability to play 40 - 50 in a reason. I dont believe he has done that before and last season we saw him get injured quite often after a couple stretches of games.
But that said, the games he did play, I thought he was good to great.

- Fakepartofme

He was injured once and re-aggravated.

For whopping total of 5 pts in 15 games.
Horrible.

Marner had 3 goals and 17pts in his first 15 games.

Ahhhh that time of year, where leafs fans over value other teams players.

But little mitch has to facking score more for sure. Its ridiculous.

Laughing at the team in the semis, brilliant.

Can you at least keep your dumbass gimmick out of here so the trolls don't punish this place for your dumb(frank)ery?

7m per year for 0.79 ppg and he'll be expecting a pay raise next year.
So this is really not a good option to trade marner for.

According to Sportsnet analyst Shane O'Brien on today's Steve Kouleas Powerplay podcast Matthew Tkachuk might want out of Calgary.

I found this on Wikipedia

Marner for Tkachuk

- Steven_Seagull

I would certainly look at that. As much as he's an ass, thats kinda what this team needs.

Score more for sure, grow a pair also for sure. Marchand is 5'9", Marner is 6'. Marner makes big boy money (seventh biggest cap hit in the league) Needs to improve playoff performance significantly on effort, willingness to engage, driving the net, scoring. No one is expecting him to drive the net like Josh Anderson, but he needs to be way better.

Not sure. Im not saying he deserves a raise but i expect he will think he deserves one.
Say 8 - 8.5 per long term

Some Isles twink at the game took off his jersey, threw it on the ground, then left the arena.

He scores a goal every 3 games, in the playoffs and regular season.
Leafs could use that.
And he averages 17 minutes a night.

Its fair, it would be much more reasonable had he not be an RFA after next year. Too bad there isnt a way the Leafs could fit him in without removing Marner. I dont think there is unless they trade Nylander which is probably a bad idea without an extension done.

I do agree we need a good 1B goalie (All teams should have one), but what more can Campbell do? He was sensational and makes 1.6 million.
- RogerRoeper

Sensational, maybe we should watch games 5 and 7 again?

I think you’re going to be disappointed again.

He was acquired to be a good backup. He turned into a starter with terrific numbers. He had a higher save % than Price in that series. He makes 1.6 cap hit.

That's the one thing about these guys with much smaller cap hits than Marner that signed half half the term. They all need new deals now or soon.

Thing that bothers me is everyone agreed on that 20 years ago when Leafs made big runs. getting to the conf finals was seen as nothing if you don't win the cup, Now fans brag over 1st round wins.

I still see Oiler fans telling Leaf fans their team is better because of a 2017 first round win. It's nuts.
