If Tkachuk does want out of Calgary, the Leafs should do everything they can to bring him here

Agreed.

He plays the kind of game this team is lacking, regardless of how simple some are and think this is nothing but a game of how many points you score in the regular season.

That being said, my guess would be if he wants out of Calgary it's to play in the states. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

My only fear is that he becomes the new Kadri: unhinged at all of the wrong times.

why does it have to be Marner for Tkachuk?
- PatC80

Ya no he couldnt.
Marner was 1.22 ppg this season
.57 ppg in the playoffs.

But lets not get carried away. Shiny new toy syndrome for sure

When fans aren't satisfied with wins they just seek novelty to keep up their interest with teams.

Eh, Nyland and Matthews side did not do that
- RogerRoeper

They didn’t even negotiate with Matthews.

Or with his buddy Mathews, also does not matter what he wants, Calgary will trade him for the best deal.

Marner was like that for the last 7 games of that 7 game series..
- PatC80

Nah, he was fine the first 3-4 games. The last 3 he was really bad....but so was matthews and a bunch of others.
I know outside of matthews, no one else makes as much.
The issue was keefe kept running the same systems/play that set most of the forwards up for failure...as the habs knew exactly what they going to do.

I can't emphasize this enough, I don't give a single solitary poop what Marner did in the regular season... They don't award cups for that.

I was talking about the playoffs, and yes, any player could have literally contributed more than Marner just by playing with some bite, scoring literally one goal or not being a complete and total liability.

I don't care how many assists he racked up playing with the best goal scorer in the game, he was a complete uncircumsized penis crawling back into its toque when the going got tough, for the 7th highest cap hit in the entire NHL.

True, but I'd rather not sell off an asset like Marner for a guy the team can only maintain control of for a couple few years if he's intent on being somewhere else. But I'm sure the honchos would do their diligence there.

If you ask CGY Flames fans Tkachuck has been invisible in playoffs...bite included.

Umm,a circumsized penis does not have a toque to crawl back in, but i'll allow the rest.

Yup.

If the Leafs had made it past the 1st round recently I suspect this whole narrative by other fanbases would wash away pretty quickly.

- mjones242

Leaf fans talk about who gets the cup 1st after winning a playoff game, that’s a major reason why it would wash away pretty quickly when you’re golfing and the playoffs are still on.

Cant blame him, on the isles he can see the 2nd round several times.
Wont see it at all on the leafs.

Pass on Tkachuck.

If there is a Flames forward I want its Lindholm and if he isnt to be had move onto some other teams.

I guess you didnt watch too many flames playoff games, cause tkafack, didnt have too much bite his last series either.
Ive always said, im willing to trade anyone as long as it makes the team better long term.
No proof a marner for tkafack does that

He's played for a far inferior team. I live around Calgary and have watched the majority of their playoff games since Tkachuk came to town, I assure you he's contributed more than Marner has for far less money.

The Leafs should focus, imo, on their strengths. That means win the regular season, President's Trophy πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†.

They will make money hand over fist. Fans will be happy with a winner. Who cares about the Stanley Cup tournament. It's overrated anyway.

Regular season is harder to win.

Should he want to extend max term.

Marner will want even more money he's not worth because he cares more about loading his pockets than he does about the success of his hometown team.
