Schenn is in for Cernak. Huge loss for Tampa. Let's see if the Isles can take advantage. - gergeswillems
I’m sick of the Isles. Am I allowed to say that without going full Roger? I understand that the Leafs are the worst team to ever play cause they were swept by the Habs who got swept by Vegas but I think a couple of these teams aren’t quite as amazing as we were led to believe. |

Not at all. You're entitled to your opinion. I'm cheering for the Isles because of Roger. It's years in the making. And all 4 teams have weaknesses. Just not as many as the teams who aren't playing. My Red Wings aren't even good enough to have a strength. |

Feel free to post your roster. With Hamilton, Oleksiak, Coleman and Goodrow. And keeping the BIG 4 because we all know Marner isn't going anywhere whether you want to admit or not. And be cap compliant. - gergeswillems
I'm expecting something much more 'subtle'.
My 'prediction':
Dermott to Kraken
Kerfoot+ to Kraken for a bottom six expansion draft player on a cheaper contract.
A pair of cheap energy types on the 4th line.
A 'tender in the 2-3M range.
Hyman (if he takes less than 5). If not then move down the list.
Pray that Robertson's ready for a top 9 role.
Add a pair of 3rd liners with some of that 'stuff' that they are missing.
*Just thinking out loud ..if Hyman is said to be worth as much as 6M per what are guys like Coleman and Goodrow and Saad worth? And what do Nuge and Landeskog get in that same world? |

I could give a poop how good the leafs allegedly are or aren't or how boring the isles are or who says what about either team. I definitely don't care about stupid rationalizations that somehow lead to a leafs fan being more content than an isles fan.
I could also give a poop if the rosters were completely reversed.
Literally anything that has the leafs playing hockey right now is good enough for me. The Isles are playing, for the second year in a row, and we are not. Period. |

Yeah I'm not really expecting anything major either. I was trying to include Leaf fans wishes. Like adding Dougie. Landy likely gets 7-8. Re-sign with Colorado after the Expansion draft. Nuge didn't really have a good season. He likely comes back to Edmonton at 6 mil. I think Seattle overpays Saad at 7 mil. I heard Coleman wants to sign with Dallas. He's from Texas. But I don't know if it's true or not. 4-4.5 mil for him. I can't see any team offering Hyman 6 mil. That's crazy. Goodrow probably gets 2-2.5 mil. |

Hymans not worth anything over 4.
Let the oilers overpay him. |

You missed the point Joel. I’m not talking about being content. All we heard for months was how the “big boys” of the other divisions would walk all over the Leafs if/when they got out of the North. I didn’t watch a lot of other Division games this season but from what I’ve seen I don’t think the gap is really that great. Sorry if that’s not the issue you’re getting into a huff over.
Whether I find Isles boring is completely separate. I find Carolina boring but they win lots of games. |

Ya, I just don't see a big ticket like Hamilton coming without a big ticket going out to free up space. Rielly's 5M isn't enough. Keep the Big4 and remake the supporting cast or change the Big4

Well 1 team showed up tonight. We can expect Full Roger anytime now after hibernating during the Isles wins. |

People get all bent out of shape when you bring in the word “luck” but a lot of teams go deep with it.
Don’t care what people say the talent level between the top and 16th isn’t big enough to make a huge difference. Meh teams can go deep. |

If it wasn't a flat cap I would think Hyman would get about 6 per year.
Now that the GMs and teams know it's flat for the foreseeable future I don't expect crazy money this year.

Unlike the leafs....can't see the 2nd round. - Fakepartofme
Agreed. And they've found ways to cheat circumvent the cap.

Point v Marner
Regular Season
Point 351GP 310Pts
Marner 355GP 358Pts ....
Post Season
Point 59GP 66Pts
Marner 32GP 24Pts ....
There is no secret ...Matty and Marner need to find their inner Kuch and Point.
And you gotta like Goodrow-Gourde-Coleman a lot more than Mikky-Engv-Simmonds
Roll with the big 4 ..ok, but that 3rd line has to be much better. |

Ken Holland always said this. There's not much separating teams. You just have to get in (the Playoffs) and you can go on a run and win it (The Cup). It's partially true. Looking at what Montreal is doing. You make your own breaks. You're more "lucky" if you're playing hard.
But if Tampa wins the Cup again is it because of talent or luck? Even the 98 Cup winning Red Wings needed Esa Tikkanen to miss a wide open net in game 2 to win that game. |
