I think Weisbrod told him to say that.

Not even close lol

I prefer hard working good skaters. Aka work ethic & inclined to be warriors. I lije Johnson but he’s light & if he has the character to work on his game then take him.

That's my pick this year.

The thing most here have noticed for years under this management is how players drop off when they arrive and how they excel when they leave. You have to question why?

So many games no hitting , no battling in front, first few minutes of games the teams not ready.

I seen now many people giving Brad Shaw high praise so hopefully he is brought in to fix those specific things. Maybe a guy like Myers playing a more defensive game with the right coaching and decisions will turn his game around.

At least they are aware of what needs to be done , next step is to fix things.

Did you listen to the Sedin presser yesterday?

They want to help fix the team culture. They’ve only been gone what, 2 seasons? All those guys played with them except Millsey and Schmitty. For those that complained about the Sedin country club - looks like the clubhouse is open again (still).

The 4th line is expiring contracts.

It’s just a common hockey narrative. Personally, I would prefer to have all 18 skaters contributing to both the offense and defense.

I seen about five minutes of it. Until you see things in place and working/ or not , it is hard to say it was a good move or not. So far all I know they are consultant of things

I can understand why JB feels he needs to be aggressive this offseason.
- VanHockeyGuy

There is just so much in there.

Hedman 29 yrs old when he won the cup. Stamkos 29 Kucherov 26 Point 23 Killorn 29 Cirelli 22 Palat 28 Sergachev 21 Johnson 29 Gourde 27

1st, 2nd, 3rd over picks. a 2nd rounder, 3- 3rd rounders.

2 - undersized free agents that literally everyone was against drafting at that time.

a 19 year old who was almost last player picked which now a days would probably be picked as a 2nd rounder.

Half those players 8-10 years after being drafted almost.

You would be the person to take Horvat over Petey

Yeah. More people involved is, I think, a good thing. It would be nice if their roles were a bit more defined…

At the very least you have more people yelling "Jim put down that phone."

Maybe they're going with a 17 man roster? Save all that money to get Landeskog and Hamilton and Ovechkin and Jones?

Sedins will be learning from an experienced hockey man in Benning, I’d be much more worried if they were learning from someone completely new to NHL management

Somebody on the LHD has to swap to the right given the excess bodies. Schmidt can but I’d try Hughes also. If Edler re-ups hoping it’s only a year.

Say Hamonic walks...

Edler Hughes
Rathbone Myers
OJ Schmidt

That is only to fit all D in & not necessarily TOI pairings deployment. Rough draft. Not enough grit & mean in there.

With Hamonic...

Hughes Hamonic
Rathbone Myers
Edler Schmidt
OJ

Same as above for TOI but better for PK mins. OJ could then be depth or trade chip.

Sign Hamonic & a UFA RHD no Edler...

Hughes Savard
Schmidt Myers
Rathbone Hamonic
OJ

More to my liking but Savard needs to say yes.

Overall Edler creates an overloaded left side with me wanting the kids to play & better defensive play which is asking for a lot.

No offense, but it doesn't really matter how you switch up the roster, it is just putting lipstick on a pig.

I agree, learn from one of the worst in the business and the only way they can go is up

Lots of Miller in this:

- NorthNuck

To be honest with you I didn't watch one complete period of Canuck hockey this season, it was on but it was always in the background so I don't remember most of those.

The only thing I would question is why only 3 lines that contribute?

Actually , that is inaccurate. Weisbrod has over 20 years experience as a front office executive. Benning has always been a sidekick until he came to VAN.

I remember quite a few of those. The few that standout were Höglander diving to sweep the puck to Pearson, Petey between his legs (and backwards) and Bo with Markstrom charging - pretty sure Marky hurt himself on that play

The Petey between the legs goal and the Miller OT goal vs Mtl were the ones I remembered pretty clearly from this year

Larsson is not.

Hamilton is a huge upgrade over Barrie.

- manvanfan

In the Playoffs sure...maybe. In the reg season their numbers are about the same Barrie actually had a better year points wise than Hamilton. Barrie looked good in the reg. season.

Sounds like Reinhart is coming to Vancouver. Not a bad addition at all. Benning thinks you guys are close, no need for picks.
- K-man25

So Tkachuk has requested a trade to STL? Thoughts K man is that 'ok' like having Marky and Tanev lol
