(frank) you're a bastard you know that. I just spent like 5 hours reading on the athletic and I went a little bonkers in my draft thread.

Oddly, I didn't disagree with many of the takes, just in the evaluations of what the future holds. |

Didn't know I'd have a fan club consist of a senile old man with anger issues and too much time on his wrinkly hands, and an anti-science middle aged man who doesn't understand math... but hey, gotta start somewhere? |

Which night or day?
Only been saying it for weeks we need a 3C & top 4 RHD. One or the other or both will happen. - Nighthawk
you're right that the needs are there but trading MDP right now is a bad idea. why? firstly, he is just a goalie prospect meaning that his value isn't that great on the trade front.
the better play would be to allow him to develop next year in the AHL and have him ready in case of injury. the following year he establishes himself as the backup. if and when he does that AND demko is still riding high, you move him. and it's not out of the question that for whatever reason (doesn't have to be injury) that he supplants holtby next year. |

He has a dream . I would rather hear trade for Cernak than who Canucks should draft at 286

Trade down - 1970vintage
If you go see my draft thread and after 5 hours of reading other takes. I've come to the conclusion that there shouldn't be a top 9. It should be a top 7 or trade down.
Past that 2nd tier of players is about 8-10 players that are interchangeable. Sliding down 5 or 6 spots would add more picks.
Calgary traded down 3 spots and 2 spots to pick up pick 72 and 80. That was in the late first. Earlier firsts are worth more.
Van could essentially do the same thing trade down 3 spots and trade down another 3 spots and still get a player close to the quality they could have picked at 9oa but add an additional two more picks. |

Reinhart for the #9 pick and DiPietro gets you close but no way the Sabres take back the boat anchor of Erricsson without a significant sweetener. Like the #1 in 2022. |

Jim has 9 guys on his list. Unless 4 of them are still there I doubt he trades back. |

That guy, sometimes he irks me. Not picky enough. Too middle of the road, damnit. |
