Yeah even though I think the asset management has been brutal I don’t say that to discredit JBB - Feds91Stammer
Agreed there. The cupboards are pretty bare now. And he keeps kicking that cap can down the street (and he's running out of street).

The won the Cup last year and if they win again this year it will be worth it. |

Sure but 4 1sts traded for what I would only say is one impact player could really kill future success. Also sucks to see a guy like Verhaege not get the opportunity to shine in Tampa. Dude just won Barkov a Selke. |

Something tells me they will figure it out. Just playing in Tampa is a huge help. |

Out of Savard, Goodrow, and Coleman, I am not sure if any of them stay.

Well they don’t have the cap. I’m just saying Coleman the only one that’s relatively useful. |

Sure, why not? They played so well in the last game. Knowing Trotz though, I have to agree with you. Unless he goes with Ross Johnston to replace Barzal... - JohnScammo
I think he needs to go with sOrOkin in net and get Leo and Bailey out of the lineup. |

Yzerman does deserve the lion's share of credit for building this team and improving it's overall culture. To be fair though, he has been gone a couple of years now and Briesbois has done a good job of keeping the wheels turning. - GalacticStone
I think the difference is Cooper getting the team to believe in playing a team D concept. Before they bought in they were losing in the PO's. Playing a tight D typically wins in the PO's. Steve Y also added some grit and toughness which they also lacked for the PO runs before they were successful. |

The difference is Brayden Point becoming a playoff savage. |

What a player, plays in all situations and just brings it in the PO's.
Not to the level as far as Points as far as points, The Isles JGP has been that guy in the PO's since Lou got him. He's battling a knock currently which sucks but he's playing through it. |

Lightning were soft for years. All skill and no grit. They had one tough guy on the roster, but never played a hard game, defensively or otherwise. That has been fixed in recent years. Now, to paraphrase Walter White, they have become the danger.

Point is a goddammed beast. A boss. And he does it while drawing the top opposition and shutdown guys. Total f-ing stud and the other GMs who drafted clowns above him must be kicking themselves. |

They 100% added the grit and depth guys to win in the PO's. Good solid team throughout the lineup The last couple of years obviously. |

To be fair if Tampa knew the player he was he wouldn’t have been picked in the 3rd round

Well yea, he'd go 1st or 2nd overall in that draft if you were to get a do-over |

Nobody knew. Like Palat and Kucherov. Diamonds in the rough.
I remember when he got scratched early on because he was late (or no-show) to a team meeting. I remember thinking the guy was probably middle-six at best. He had good straight-line speed, but that's it. He's grown so much since then.

Lee skating with the regulars at practice today
Maybe an optional skate but wow if he's able to come out with the team tonight and warmup the place will go nuts.
