That he did but frankly, if your argument is that a hockey team has injuries nearly 20 games into the playoffs you have a poop argument and probably started watching hockey around the time Vegas got a team - Takemedrunkimhome
That's why I always say the regular season champion is the best team in the league.
The Stanley Cup champion is who put together the best tournament. |

Marner? That guy is garbage.

Gonna celebrate loudly when that guy finally succumbs to the limited capacities of his arteries.

Sometimes it's about finding the right "fit" for what he can bring.
That line with Armia and Perry is playing such a heavy game along the boards, speed isn't their forte but they make it up with great puck control and using their big bodies to create opportunities.
- Scabeh
Gonna be honest, never knew Perry was so good at passing the puck, but he has made some amazing ones this year, especially when pulling additional coverage towards him leaving someone open for a good scoring chance.

Not sure anyone is really debating $5M.
Pretty sure people don't think he is either worth more or that the NHL flat cap will allow him to get more.

I hated Perry when he was playing for the Ducks, remembered he gave Markov a head shot after he scored the game winner. He is one of those guys you love having on your team but hate playing against him

there was quite a few. obvs he isn't doing it alone but he has been at the centre of shutting down some pretty good players.
i am still pissed about the trade so i am biased. |

Debate was whether he was worth $6m if I recall and I'd argue it's still hard to determine. His d has been great but he has two points, no goals, in 16 playoff games, 1 goal and 7 points in 32 career playoff games. His appropriate value and price tag is really hard to place but I'd still prefer to keep him if possible without breaking the bank |

Thought it was 5 but yeah, not sure i would do 6 either. and i am a huge fan. you can't measure what he has done with points. as you know.
it is not something anyone can do. he is worth 5 to me. he does put up decent numbers during the season but is a weapon in the playoffs. just in a different way. |

I think the NHL would do well to promote both the regular season champion and the tournament champion.
They have different refereeing, game formats and challenges that are played with different styles.
Both winners have made noteworthy accomplishments. |

If I'm in charge and he'd take $5m he'd be signed already. That said Suzuki gets paid next off season and Kotkaniemi likely takes a bridge this year that ideally in two years will be him forcing a big cheque from the Habs in which case you need to be careful with the spending. All that said for what Danault brings I'd go $5m all day...at $6m I need to run numbers. Odds are I'd still go $6m if the term is palatable and try and save a million somewhere else |

There is an advantage to finishing first in the regular season in home ice advantage but otherwise it's a tune up, nothing more. Playoff hockey is all that matters |

I agree with this. 5M is ideal but at 6M there's surely a way to make it work, would be silly to let him walk away for 1M

Lol. You're talking the loser mantra.
Two completely different things. Regular season and playoff tournament. |
