The team that wins is the team that wins. The rest is just noise. I live in southern Ontario and have heard for years the only reason the Habs won in 1993 is an uncalled high stick. People have agendas, it is what it is

And a couple * if Tampa wins it with $98 M worth of talent on the ice?
- Karine Hains

Ya know, I've heard the whole, "add an asterisk* to belittle the CANADIAN (I spelled that right..) accomplishments since the post-lockout shortened season.

However, this is the first time I can honestly say I think it's justified.

We've posted our thoughts here in regards to the cap circumvention in the past few days. Labour wars, etc...

It's simple: Cap stays throughout the playoffs, period. Can't make that work? Better solve it by the trade deadline... If you're a bottom feeding team taking on contracts, sorry, it's a percentage (that can be worked out) that you can claim, or you make LTIR contacts non-tradeable. Go one further, if you choose to have an LTIR player on your roster in the post-season, then the cap stays live for the team.

Whatever the fix, this loophole needs to be eradicated, sooner than later.

I've picked against the Habs every round! I'm happy to see them playing so well. I'd picked them to win the division in the regular season. Keep it up Habs!

I know what you mean, it's a real shoulda-woulda-coulda situation.
BUT...
The 93 Habs still had a whole extra playoff round to win, there's no guarantee the Leafs would have won. I know the frustration, though, because that miracle Expos season cut short due to the lockout... There was no guarantee they'd win the Series, but it sure felt like it at the time.
There's an obvious case of cap circumvention with Tampa right now. It needs to be dealt with, and it won't happen before the end of the playoffs, I get that. A Cup win for Tampa would be legit, even if it's shady. Because of it was all based on paper, we'd be watching the Leaf Stanley Cup parade on TV.
So learn from the error, fix it, and move on. For the good of the game.

KINGS!!

I'll never talk sh!t about any player off this roster again, no matter where they play the rest of their careers, they've earned it!

Caufield is gonna be a star, if you still doubt it, just stop.... rookie of the year next year!

Staal probably doesn't miss Buffalo much right now, must seem like a lifetime ago to him.

And Suzuki? Was real high on this kid before he even played a game, was hoping he wouldn't disappoint, fair to say he hasn't?

WOOOOOOOOOOO!!

But he receives none of it during the playoffs, therefore he’s playing like a god for free

I doubted them every step of the way too... I mean, they we're 18th overall in a league where 16 teams get in and they find themselves 1 win away from the finals, glad they proved all of us wrong

It's just so much fun to shut the pie hole of some so-called "hockey experts".

I set my alarm clock at 3:00 in the morning just to laugh at them.
