Eichel on a good team changes that as I don’t think RAPM is anywhere near perfect as accounting for teammates in their model - sbroads24
1) McDavid
2) Mackinnon
3)Crosby
4) Point
5)Matthews/Eichel/Draisatil
That’s how I rank it. Slight edge to Point over Eichel.
The lightning are as good as they are because of Point.
Eichel will always be the better point producer but Point’s overall game, his clutch ability, and his overall availability gives him the edge in my eyes.

Eichel’s defensive numbers are inflated due to the fact he played 21 games in 2021 in a system that made offence non-existent.
Jesus Christ even Skinner had awesome defensive numbers this year but I bet you won’t post that RAPM.
So we have a player in Point that drives offence at a higher rate and has just as good expected goals against that plays in a much higher up tempo system.
Is Kucherov a legend ? Absolutely.
Would Eichel put up better offensive numbers in Tampa ? Absolutely.
Brayden Point is the heart of a Tampa team that is one goal away from another Stanley Cup final. - Pegullaville
Jack on the worst team in hockey, Point on the team that outscored the Sabres by 192 goals in the last 3 years. 192 goals. - Wetbandit1
What does the other 3 Tampa forward lines and-corps out scoring the other 3 Sabres forward lines and d-corps at even strength while Point and Eichel are on the bench have anything to do with this ?
Brayden Point’s most common line mates this year were Palat and Cirelli. Stamkos played on the top line for 13 games. Barrie Boulet played on that line for 13 games as well.
Point finished with 48 points in 56 games.
Cirelli, although fantastic defensively, is not very much of an offensive producer and I’d take Reinhart and Hall over Palat.
Point is elite. No other way to put it.
No Kucherov all year and Hedman had a good year but not one you would expect from him (supposed injury involved) and the Lightning won 36 games this year.
I have been one of the biggest Eichel homers over the years but I still give the slight edge to Point.

Because all the opposing teams have to do is focus on Eichel. They can't take any shifts off against Tampa.

Some good candidates for next season
Ullmark Driedger combo wouldn't be bad, Vanecek and Mrazek are intriguing even though you would have to trade for Vanecek.

I noticed you put eichel on par with matthews as well, which you didn't do in the past

Leon is far better than Eichel, and it’s not even close. He’s up there with mcD and mcK.
I would take Mathews 10/10 times over Eichel too. But Jack is prob right in the tier behind those guys if he could actually stay healthy
