I wonder what a return like the above would do as far as the Sabres plan for next season and beyond, if they even have one.

What would YOUR plan be for the Sabres? |

I don't get what you mean, there all still 25 and below, both Theodore and Tuch are signed for atleast 4 more years. Krebs is a good young talent and I know the 1st will be late but you could probably grab Cossa there. |

Theodore and Tuch should keep their bags packed and should be flipped for more picks/prospects.
I would still do this trade then flip the 2 looking for 22/23 1sts from fringe teams.
If you could get an unprotected 1st from teams like:
East:
Columbus/Boston/Calgary/NYR/Pitt
West:
LA/Chicago/Nashville/SanJose/St.Louis
On top of the 1st round picks this year from moving 9/23/55, the organization will have the proper foundation for a full rebuild. |

Theodore is about to turn 26.
My point is are you trying to be a playoff team next year or is the plan to be bad again at least for next year?
I have a feeling Cossa will be off the board before the Vegas pick. |

Kudos to the Isles. They played well.
If they can cheap shot Point out of the game like they did Kucherov and tried to against Stamkos they have a good shot in game 7 - sbroads24

it really couldn't have happened to a nicer guy

Theodore would be your 1RD, Tuxh would be a perfect fit with Cozens. Still have Rhino to flip for another 1st and good prospect. You can still build for today while setting yourself up for the future. Krebs Cozens Mitts is a pretty good C group. |

He’s an incredible player…. Who the Sabres could’ve drafted like 3-4 times in 2014.
Whatever - sbroads24
every other team in league passed on him at least twice including the stars, jackets twice and isles just before the bolts took him
that said, sabres drafting has sucked, no doubt about it |

For me, it's a matter of how quickly you're trying to push to be a good/playoff team. |

Yeah, I dont really get the love fest for Kucherov. Tampa has been one of the dirtiest teams in the league for years now with that guy leading the charge. Wasnt sad to see him leave the game at all. |

Why you can't build for now and the future. So he's 26, be a good partner for Dahlin. Then you use that first to pluck a young player of a different team, or send it to Seattle and have them pluck a player in the expansion draft. |

how about just get what you can, build with what you've got and take it from there?...
theodore has four years left on his contract at a very, very reasobable $5.2m cap-hit, which should be a serious win in the value-contract category...tuch has five years left |

Unless Terry wants Wright or Bedard, then next year is irrelevant.

Agreed. I can respect the talent, but he's had some real poopty ones. Low bridging Sobotka then jumping on the bench will stick with me for some time. |

I understand that, why can't we do both. I mean we still have 9 picks in this draft, and will add to that. If Adams and Karmanos hopefully do there job you can still build for the future while improving for next year. |

What's best for the team long term? Being bottom 5 again next season or picking in the 10 to 12 range?
I know everyone is sick of losing, myself included, but it's a legitimate question to ask. |

the ny islanders are taking the greatest team since the edmonton oilers to game 7 of the eastern conference finals...
after letting their only #1 overall pick walk...and that includes drafting the likes of g. reinhart michael del colle in the top-5 and trading nino niederreiter |

So are you for moving 9/23/55? If so are you looking for hockey or futures trades?

I hear you 39, but even getting those players doesn't guarantee anything. I doubt they would do it, but say with LA or Columbus loosing out on Eichel they turn there attention to Rhino, see if you can get next years 1st instead of this year's. |

If he comes back next game, he won't be 100%.
