the ny islanders are taking the greatest team since the edmonton oilers to game 7 of the eastern conference finals...
after letting their only #1 overall pick walk...and that includes drafting the likes of g. reinhart michael del colle in the top-5 and trading nino niederreiter - Michael Pachla
To be fair they traded Griffin Reinhart for Barzal.
Nino ended up being a pretty good player as well but they traded him for Clutterbuck before he realized his potential.

Ya I’m not sure how this is a discussion. Every GM is taking point over Eichel - Fattony1187
Ya, like I said last night, those who don't watch Tampa alot tend to underestimate Point.
I watch around 40 - 50 Tampa games a year, in addition to probably 75 Sabres games.
I love watching Jack play very much. His Covid shortened season was unbelieveable..he took his game to another level. Unfortunately, we have seen Jack on the big stage to see how he performs, although in College Jack didn't get it done, and he hasn't exactly been a start in world tournaments either.
Pointer is just as good and is clutch.
Now the question is, Is Jack better than Draisaitl or Matthew's? Matthew's has underwhelmed in the Playoffs on an equally loaded team as Tampa. Draisaitl blows Jack away in points production.
I'd put it like the following:
McDavid
MacKinnon
Crosby
Point / Draisaitl
Matthew's/ Eichel

point taken, however...
they let their only #1 overall pick walk...and have gotten farther in the playoffs than they ever had with him...in fact, the powerhouse team their only #1 overall pick went to has yet to make it out of the first round

Kudos to the Isles. They played well.
If they can cheap shot Point out of the game like they did Kucherov and tried to against Stamkos they have a good shot in game 7 - sbroads24
Lightning give every bit as good as they get. They are more than willing to try to sneak in a cheap shot here and there.
Kucherov has tried to sell some calls this post season, perhaps the ref had seen him flop in previous games and thought he was embellishing again. Kucherov was cross checked on his right side, then tried to hit Barzal into the boards right afterwards and hit the boards himself with his left side. Kucherov seemed to be favoring his left side when he left the ice, with the tell tale signs of someone who had just popped his shoulder out, or broke his collarbone.
Idk, but don’t cry for TB, they are just as guilty as any team when it comes to borderline dirty hits.

awww...
it really couldn't have happened to a nicer guy - Michael Pachla
Kuch and Stammer take far more abuse than the dish out.
Islanders have taken out Cernak, Kucherov and Colton in the last 4 periods with absolute dirty plays.
Mayfield uses his stick as a cross check weapon with deliberate attempts to injure.
You are biased for sure...as am I with Bolts dirty play as well.

It goes both ways. - IonSabres
I posed the question the other night asking how many goals before it is considered a bad omen (as the lightning were running up the score) and I think we found out.

They take as much as they give.
Kucherov is a friggin target out there. He's guilty too.
That is the point, they take probably more than they give.
Coleman, Goodrow, Gourde, Conton and Maroon should all be targeting Barzal all game. A good accidental stick square to the nose would be justified payback.
Isles have played very dirty as well.

Well, when they deliberty injure the best player on the ice, then go after Stamkos after having already taken Colton and Cernak out...I'd say their intent is well defined.
