Usually they call the extremely blatant poop. Ever since that (frank) got caught on a hot mic in the Detroit/Nashville game it’s like the refs have been trying to prove how awful they can be.

Everyone hated peel for that but if a game starts to get out of hand a ref will look to make a call and settle it down and set a standard and the players get it. After that incident they are letting them play and said (frank) it

I watched it again earlier. That third period was still nerve racking even though I knew the outcome.

Last game JGP got cross checked in the back 3 times by Rutta, which is why Barzal went after him. The NBC crew said nothing about the cross checks then.
