Johnny Gaudreau, Alex Debrincat. - MJL
Gaudeau is 2" taller, but i guesses you proved me wrong, its totally normal and not the exception to the rule |

I could see him possibly signing a one year deal, but not because it is a “prove it deal.” More likely at a slight raise and because Sanheim bets on himself. If for instance, the two sides can’t agree on term at the right price. Let’s say the Flyers want 3-5 years and Sanheim wants 2, I could see the 1 year deal happening then as a compromise then he is RFA again next season. - NC Flyers Fan
If you read my other post, I stated the only way a one year deal happens is if both sides can't find common ground. Sanheim won't want a one year deal, he'll want some security. The Flyers won't want a one year deal as that would put them in a weaker negotiating spot. Especially if he has a good year.

5'9 is pretty short for an NHL forward. DeBrincat is listed a 5'7". It's definitely not the norm but there are plenty of successful undersize players.

I think Sandheim wont be here in October, trades will be made, and we have to give to get. Could totally see Sandheim and TK both being gone. We need changes. Culture and style of play |

Possibility. The Flyers didn't play the style of play that the coaching staff wanted them to play last year |

from one website, this is why it wasnt a sure thing taking someone that small. Even with the ODD success story. No one that small ever been drafted in the 1st round.
Although, one thing has kept scouts from labeling him as a top 10 prospect for this upcoming 2019 NHL Draft. As of the end of the 2018 season, Caufield is only 5’6” or 168cm in other words. At the 2017 draft, Kailer Yamamoto made headlines as the shortest players to ever be taken in the first round. Yamamoto is 2 inches or 5 centimetres taller than Cole Caufield.
However, im still fine with york, we need him |

I wasn’t disagreeing. I think the Flyers would not want a two year deal more than not wanting a one year deal. We’ll see.

It's like his wife is going to say something and then she doesn't. I guess she was told to just look pretty, but she wanted to say something?

That might be an all time record low! No one in this country cares about the Habs and while the ratings in Canada will spike that will do nothing for the ratings south of the border. And no one cares about the Bolts. They may have the deadest crowd in the history of the NHL playoffs. It's like everyone is sitting there and eating ice cream like they're at a baseball game. Eh what? |

It looked like they had a decent crowd at their arena watch party Wednesday night.

Hakstol hired by the crack heads!!! What are the chances that he wins a Cup before the Flyers do? Just asking for a friend. |

More and more publications, like the hockey writers and the athletic, are pointing to JVR as the one to be unprotected and selected, and really it makes the most sense for the Flyers. Its up to Fletcher to sell any FA on the Flyers, based on the players, the young talent, and most importantly his plan. It true these players can go anywhere, but why not the Flyers. The are a franchise committed to winning, they have a HOF coach and two prior head coaches as assistants, and they have some young players in Hart, Farabee and hopefully York that will be something. And they also what a lot of other teams don't have, cap space. As far as the PP, why not see if York can handle it. He really looks to be able to QB it pretty well. - jd250
If that is their pitch they are in trouble.

Can't believe Montreal actually won. This was a real choke job by Vegas. - jd250
It really wasn't tho. Montreal played better than them for most of the series -- they found an extra gear that Vegas couldn't match.

The flyers beat Montreal last playoffs. They are close. That will be the spin somewhere in flyer land. |

he is 5'7. If he has a great carreer it is an anomaly. I wouldnt say plenty of small guys have been dynamic. Id say Fleury and now maybe Caufield. - bradster
Marchand, Debrincat, Kaprisov, Zuccarello, Gaudreay, Marchessault have all been pretty dynamic and are 5'9 and under. I'd say some of them are way shorter than that considering how inflated official height/weights tend to be (No way Ennis is 5'9 lol).
That's just active players. Could dig not to far back into history and find dudes like St. Louis, Gionta, Dionne, etc. |

Montreal looks a lot like the 2010 Flyers team, but with Carey Price in net. |

you win, its not rare for a 5'7" to get drafted in the 1st round and be dynamic lol
Feel better?
