They also could have prevented the Flyers from getting stuck w/ AMac for 6-years.

He’s an elite shot blocker tho.
From absolute second pairing to out of the League at 32. Seems like an odd combination.

Good bet that the Kraken won’t select Ghost.

RR is pretty much the same case as AMac. Bad dman getting a lot of minutes on a bad team... except instead of zomg he blocks so many shots, it's zomg he has so many hits.

Athletic, good read.

In my opinion, he’s ideally a No. 4 or 5 defenseman, who the coaching staff works to strategically deploy at even strength to ensure they maximize his value. And he can still be a strong power-play weapon on a unit that deploys a bombs-away shooting strategy, since his shot remains his primary weapon on the man advantage. In that role — No. 4/5 and PP specialist — Gostisbehere can put up points and be a minor net positive at even strength. He showed that this season. Now, with a $4.5 million cap hit, he’s not providing a ton of surplus value in that role, but he’s not a cap liability, either. It’s a relatively fair price for a player with his skill set.

Hakstol is Seattle's coach.

How does this affect the Flyers in the expansion draft? If at all.

It is clear to me the coaching staff doesn't like him however. Be shocked if he is back.

I agree and it might be more about fit and what they need. It does give hope you could move him to the right team. The article went in depth on his performance, you wont win the trade with Ghost but maybe you can move him and not lose a lot.

Though his skillset is unique for the current D group

Do we still own the rights of VandeVelde?

Yep a perceived problem for another perceived problem is my guess. Or similar.

Curious to see how he does in seattle if he is allowed to coach. Knowing what we know about Saint Ronnie don't think he was given a fair shake.

Expansion Draft update:

With Hakstol as Seattle's coach, the Kraken select, from the Philadelphia Flyers:

1 vote for Vandevelde

1 vote for Lehtehra.

In your opinion do you see the Flyers having any interest in Tony D once he is bought out by the Rangers?

Would you look to sign him as solid low cost option? The reward outweighs the risk imo.

- hello it's me 2050

No it doesn't. Tony D has gone through several NHL organizations already. He's a locker room cancer. No way am I bringing that into a locker room, especially after last season.

False. Where has any teammate said he is a cancer or a bad locker room guy? In fact the opposite opposite has been said

It was reported a teammate (maybe Kreider) punched him in the face this year. That doesn’t happen for no reason.

He was racist to Russian teammates apparently. Are you forget it’s our best d man is Russian?

Ron Francis chose Bill Peters as HC for the Canes over longtime AC Rod Brind’Amour.
Rod was finally hired as HC a few days after Francis was fired. Since then the Canes have made the playoffs 3 straight years after missing them for a decade. Now Francis hires Hakstol. Somehow I’m not impressed.
