As someone who watched every Habs game, I think they are pretty damn exciting to watch.

- Scabeh

Caufield is an exciting player to watch. He created that goal on his own last night. I also liked how he purposely didn't go 5 hole after Lehner shot his mouth off saying that's what he does.

You know what’s not a key to win? Spending half the cap on 4 forwards. Stay the course.
- Steven_Seagull

That's clearly why they lost.

Uh, yeah. But Leafs are exciting to watch and have superstars.

NHL allowing hooking, cross checks, their biggest stars to get mugged is such a horrible direction in terms of markertng

- RogerRoeper

Or, the stars could figure out a way to push through. The way, you know, previous stars have done?

Or maybe they should just change all the rules so Austin, Mitch and Connor all get their participation ribbon/Stanley Cup and look even better on Instagram?

If everyone took less they'd be winning. Gotcha.

Much better chance, yes.

It's just funny that you think that's why they lost. 40 million no depth! Except...Their depth was great statistically and the stars other than Nylander no showed.

OR the NHL could follow it's own rules and make actual calls and create space for paying fans to see some great action?

The NBA has it right

There is really no difference between the two of you.

You are both too far left or right here.

They picked the best players they could in the draft spots.

To say they lost because of 40 million is just lazy and doesn't scratch the surface as to what went wrong. The depth scored a ton. The stars did not LOL.

The stars not scoring but are paid half the cap seems like a waste of money that can be used elsewhere.

If it's Habs/Isles I really think NHL needs to look at the officiating in the playoffs. They are killing themselves in terms of marketing, Betteman loves "Parity", but that doesn't sell the game.

15 goals in the last 12 playoff games 5v5

Not sure anyone has scored a ton.

There’s always next year.

Best team never wins the Cup. Luckiest team does. Playoffs are just so random.

Why doesn’t everybody just spend 24 hours listening to Sarah McLachlan and get it out of their system. This angst fest is getting really stale. The Leafs are a good team that need to make some adjustments. Hopefully they make the right ones. They were a better team this year than they were last year.

Go ahead and live in a world of ifs and buts and keep losing in the first round, then.

Or deal with reality and build a proper playoff team.
