depends what you classify as a star i guess.

Gretzky was 23, not sure how old all the other Oiler greats were,
Crosby and Malkin did it
Kane and Toews did it
not sure how old Marchand was, but Seguin was on that team and was under 23
this is just off the top of my head, im sure the list is very long!!

"Going to the cup final......oooh so special"
"Look at my team...another cup final"
'Im so cool...my team is in the final"

Pfft your stupid team are missing all the best tee times! HA!!!
The cup is not even real gold.....who needs it!

Congrats man.

- Fakepartofme

Every year I tell myself the silver lining is that at least I'm not paying for really expensive playoff tickets.

I don't even have that this year.

The team who wins the stanley cup is the season's champion and the best team of that year.

It doesn't matter what you think.

- Scabeh

There is a difference between "best" and "champion".

The Stanley Cup is the ultimate goal and the only thing that really matters. But to categorically state that "best" and "champion" are the same thing is silly.

Seriously, this kind of bullpoop slander has got to stop. You should be ashamed of yourself.

To suggest that he's afraid of his shadow completely ignores the facts.

If you want to post here, at least try to get poop right, instead of just banging away at your keyboard like some loser in your parents' basement.

Punxsutawney Phil isn't afraid of his shadow. It's just if he sees it, there's 6 more weeks of winter.

- Atomic Wedgie

To be fair, I would be terrified of seeing my shadow if that’s what it meant.

15 goals in the last 12 playoff games 5v5

Not sure anyone has scored a ton.

There’s always next year.

Compared to the list of winning after 23? Yeah no.

Ovi, Backstrom, Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman, Kopitar, Lidstrom, Lemieux, Yzerman

Thats off the top of my head.

Either way moral of the story you don't need to win a cup before you are 23 because it doesn't happen often.

Well if the goal of the game is to win the stanley cup, isn't the team winning it the best at atteigning that goal?

Hence, the best team?

That's always how I viewed things personally.

He's not wrong: you don't build a franchise around a playmaking winger who can't hack it in the playoffs.

AM34 should be the only untouchable Leaf... until McJesus signs here.

My goals as a hockey coach every year are having fun, skills development and growing as a person.

Winning is a secondary goal.

It's disappointing that your stupid Habs have this "win at all costs" mentality.

Don't come crying to me when at the end of all of this, they are terrible people.

This is what blowhards do.

They make bold claims - get proven wrong - and then double down.

Eventually Santo will be right about Price (because all players regress eventually) and Roger will be right about the NYI (Because all teams regress eventually)

Until then, they will just keep telling everyone to wait till next year.

Age doesn't really matter all of that much... Tyler Toffoli won the Cup when he was 22 and thought it would be easy to win again.. It's not easy.. Leafs just need to make some small adjustments to get the right mix of players..

No, it's embarrassing pretending that a team that was largely poop all season long but managed to put it all together in an end of year tournament is the "best".

"Best" and "champion" are not synonymous.

I don't know why you're so triggered by this concept. If I was a Habs fan I wouldn't give a poop if my team was actually the "best" team of the year -- only that they hoisted the Cup.
