Or, stay maybe it more to with Brodie and Bogo replacing Ceci and Marincin and Barrie
- Canada Cup

Or have Chris Lee officiate and follow the NHL guidlines that cross-checking (and injuring) the opponent's best player is now a great defensive play.

He actually was a terrific athlete way back when. Quarterback and star in highschool (Nelson A Boylen) and captain of the track team. What happened?

They need to bring in guys who know how to win because no one does.

Stupid Kraken for making a guy who has no clue how to win their head coach.

Maybe the Leafs problems stem from the players on the ice and not the guys standing behind the bench? Just a thought. Hackstol won as a College coach. Had a few years of success at Philly. Good guy, tough coach, and fierce competitor. He will do well in Seattle

Helm is serviceable. He's 34. But the Leafs can do better. I'd promote Brooks or Joey Anderson over signing him. Helm is Kenny Holland's boy so I could see him being an Oiler next season.

I see a Robertson-Brooks-Spezza 4th line next year. Joey Anderson in and out as well.

I have no idea how good or bad the assistant coaches did. Tbh as a fan we don't really have much of a clue to evaluate assistant coaching. They don't make any obvious decisions.

Brucey was an excellent AHL player too. He scored a ton of goals. Then he went all O-Dog and let himself go. I could see Fatty Patty Maroon ending up the same way. His face looks like it's holding 300 pounds in a 5 pound bag. The beard doesn't really hide it.

You really want Robertson playing on the 4th line? Not up with Snake and Willie?

Maybe, the coaching staff has two functions in my view.
1) Teach
2) Get the most out of their players by motivating

Good guy - maybe I don't know him
Tough coach - maybe, didn't show on the team, played softer than the pilsbury dough boy
Fierce competitor - maybe, Leafs lacked a willingess to engage in the playoffs

As far as 1 and 2 go - massive failure

Let Kraken take a D.

After July 1st Kerfoot is owed 4.1 M over his last 2 years....excellent value. Teams will be lining up for him over signing a similar FA for an extra 2 M a year.

Move him up the lineup as needed.

4th line on the Leafs has been used in a sheltered offensive role with Keefe. Not a bad spot for him.

Also Im not as high on Robertson as the average leaf fan.

Helm can still skate well. That's what got him in the NHL and what's kept him there. He can still kill penalties. Mikheyev reminds me of Helm quite a bit. All wheels, hustle and no finish. I've always liked Helm but there's alot of tread worn off his tires. Brooks has much more upside.

I like how he loves to shoot the puck. No hesitation. He just wires it.

Again, the coach can't go out on the ice and do it . The players need to show up.

If Hyman walks in UFA maybe Dubas just keeps Kerfoot? You'd have to replace him with a 3C anyway and that's not easy to do in UFA without overpaying.

I like him...I just don't think his ceiling is as high as some think.

Will be a good PP guy I think.

I think he will be used in a trade as the "roster player"

His contract is worth more to other teams than the Leafs.

And worst case Granlund wont cost more than 3-3.5M.

I agree. If Hyman walks, you can put Kerfoot on the wing with JT and go after a better 3C in the off-season

Santo mentioned Granlund. Reports at the deadline said Dubas was trying to trade for him. I wonder If he signs him in UFA?
