As a top four with Weber and Petry, yes. |

They are a very good playoff team. Elite goaltending and top 4 D, and all four lines compete and contribute, and more importantly play a disciplined playoff style game. They stick to their system and assignments and make very few mistakes.
There are people around here who see the game either on paper, or who are impressed by slick moves and cool instagram accounts. They have absolutely no clue of how vastly different playoff hockey is to regular season hockey.
Montreal is a team that was built to play playoff hockey. So, are they "good"? Yes, they are very good at playoff hockey.
The Leafs? Good at regular season hockey. - fifty__missions
Any team that had Carey Price in net would be in the final four right now.
He has been that good.
They are winning - but let's not pretend Montreal is something that they aren't.

Not exactly true.
He hasn't had a big impact on lv series. Its mostly the habs shutting their opponent. |

To be fair - I did say "would be in the final four"
That would exclude the Vegas games.

Saying that Carey Price is the only reason that Montreal is where they are right now is a perfect example of how little some people around here know about hockey, and playoff hockey in particular.

Campbell did statistically just as well as Price in our series. Our D was surprisingly pretty good.
Our Top 6 forwards did not beat their top 6 forwards....specifically Marner. And with JT out that killed us. No heart at all in the top 6 Leafs...which really ended up being top 2. Hyman is what he is. And I don't even know who played on the 2nd line except Nylander.
Our bottom 6 were just not young/fast/tough/good enough....because we don't have cap space to add decent bottom 6.
And then the dagger, two very bad turnovers. |

Series is over in game 6 OT if any goalie other than Price is in net.

Leafs might have already clinched a Finals berth if Galchenyuk didn’t make that ridiculous play in Game 5. Came back from down 3-0, Habs looked mentally done. OT starts right where they left off in the Habs zone... then BOOM a gift from their old buddy!! One of the biggest bonehead plays in playoff history especially with all the momentum.
Then Leafs have the monkey off their back finally winning a series. And play the defending champs next with no pressure
Edit - after the jets bye round of course |

Leafs would’ve gotten spanked by Tampa. Holl playing 20+ minutes against Point and Kucherov? yeesh… |

Exactly. THIS is what I've been saying for days. Leafs whole focus should be to win the President's Trophy 🏆🏆. If any team can turn winning the President's Trophy into a rightfully recognized achievement, it's the Leafs. |

Pietrangelo with his 12th point. It’s okay, we don’t need a #1 D. |

We need to bring Luke Richardson home to teach our D the cross check to the back without a penalty trick. |
