“I’m open to anything, willing to go anywhere,” he said Monday. “I have something to prove, and if anyone’s looking to bring in someone with a chip on their shoulder, I’d be the guy.”
Karl Alzner. Trains with players in Kelowna in the summer. Maybe he's willing to take a 700k deal to mentor the kids in Abbotsford. - manvanfan
Well its 750K min now. But sure its FA's money if they don't add back RFA's on two way deals.
That team though in Abby will have few waiver exempt players. Too late to sign undrafted Euros and College players. Not sure what 20 year old free agent CHL players are left. |

That’s for the NHL. The AHL’s minimum salary in their CBA for players on AHL contracts for this coming season is $51,000. You sign the guy to an AHL contract. Not a NHL one. |

What Jeff Marek was saying today is that it isn’t likely that Jim Benning was pushing for the twins to join the management team. If Jim/John have their eye on a free agent and FA asks “what do you think?” To Hank, and he doesn’t agree it the right move, what happens next?
It’s all speculation now. I’m not whining about the twins, or even Benning here. Just relaying what the media has been talking about.
I think it’s a good hire, if they have structured roles, learn one part of the business at a time. - 1970vintage
Both the twins have said we are not coming in with a plan. It sounds really dumb but if you take it in the context they meant it, it has substance.
They don't have any dates that need to be met and if they are preforming the same role in 10 years that is fine. They want to learn everything about hockey ops but don't have to be GM in a year or two.
I think the difference with these two is they are coming here for the love of the city, the fans and the Canucks.Who knows they may even be doing this for free |

Would you rather Alzner at $800k or Edler at $3m? |

I doubt it but…
Are you becoming a fan, finally?
Yeah, I thought the same thing, no plan sounds dumb, but I agree, they mean agenda, not plan. |

I am always a fan of the team , not always a fan of the players.
I am ok with them here , They have really strong training habits and they can show players what it takes to be top athletes. I don't want them running the PP or playing on the third line

Tampa looks to be the better team, but as Nighty likes to say “that’s why they play the games”. |

The "Kane loophole"
During the 14-15 season. Feb 24 Kane fractured his collarbone and had surgery.
12 week timeline to return. Around West conf finals.
6.3M of Kane's cap hit was used to get Vermette 3.5M, Timonen 2.75M Desjardins 800k
Kane returned in time for game 1 of the playoffs and Chicago won their 3rd cup. |

That’s why I think Vegas is going to be all in for Eichle. He can spend the entire season on LTIR after surgery. |

It would be great if that happened then the League said that teams needed to be cap compliant in Playoffs also.

That's what I heard as well.
Salary cap in the playoffs of some sort. Limited amount on LTIR at once. |

Lui on LTIR all season and then he’s not allowed back on the roster for the playoffs? |
