I remember how far everyone thought Montreal was from competing, and how dumb it was with them making the moves they did this last off season. One win from the SCF... personally I think we are at the point to make moves to move cap and bring in young players that improve us to compete now. If we get young guys 26 or under, we still have time to restock before they get too old. - Retinalz

Honestly, I would go after Debrusk, Reinhart, resign Hamonic and dangle OJ for a righty. Maybe try something around OJ + for Debrusk and Carlo. - Retinalz
Don't mind this but we need to keep OJ. |

Look at how we all mocked Toronto for giving up a first for marleaus contract. Or a first for Foligno and they collapsed. It doesn't matter if Benning stays quiet and plays out those anchoring contracts, or if he's active and mortgages the future to get rid of contracts and be more competitive now, he will hear it no matter what.
Again, I don't think this team can be competitive with roussel, LE, Beagle, virtanen, and our defense. Until those contracts expire, I just don't see it. - Codes1087
Vancouver mocked Tor for about two weeks. Tor media slurped up everything and had them at Cup favorites.
I don't think it hurt TOR one bit to be truthful. They did their usual thing regular season and disappointed their fans on cue in the playoffs.

I think we trade one of OJ and Rathbone. Both need regular NHL games and there will only be room for one. I doubt they put Rathbone back in the AHL. |

I still have them out.
If they win tonight, I win the playoff pool I am in, because I am so far ahead and I am the only one who has correctly picked the Habs, at least so far.
I will say this again, just so everyone knows where I stand, big defensemen help the team win championships. Also, I said this last year and I say it still, Nick Suzuki is one of the best young centres in the league. |

Montreal won 24 lost 32 games this regular season. They are lucky Leafs continue to fail to close out playoffs.
Good for them .

I dont know how you can say that Toronto giving up a 1st for foligno and then getting bounced first round doesn't hurt them. That is a massive payment for nothing, and a huge potential mortgage of the future. Point is though, I don't think Benning can escape criticism no matter what he does this off season. I think he's fired before the season ends |

No GM should be in charge of a team for 10 years, especially if they havent won a cup for their team. |

Benning didn't get a new 2 year deal, that was Green.
You owe Codes.😁 |

Me , I could care less . I stopped watching after the first round but I am sure Montreal quite appreciate their new boatload of fans
I will say once again though Benning is correct , make the playoffs and anything can happen. Damn he is smart. |

He would look real good in Arizona, a team I seldom watch, the Donna and Lefty will be happy. |
